Alito confirmed

American democracy in action :)

Washington DC

Alito Sworn In as Nation's 110th Supreme Court Justice
Tuesday, January 31, 2006
By Jane Roh
Samuel Alito was sworn in as the nation's 110th Supreme Court justice on Tuesday, less than two hours after the Senate voted 58-42 to confirm him to the nation's highest court.

"Sam Alito is a brilliant and fair-minded judge who strictly interprets the Constitution and laws and does not legislate from the bench. He is a man of deep character and integrity, and he will make all Americans proud as a justice on our highest court," President Bush said in a statement.

Chief Justice John Roberts administered the judicial oath and constitutional oath, by which Alito pledged equal justice for the rich and the poor and to uphold the Constitution, respectively. It was the first time the nation's new chief justice has ever administered the oaths to an associate justice.
Alito and his wife had watched the Senate floor vote with President Bush in the White House. Afterwards, Bush congratulated his nominee and left to host a luncheon of the top news anchors from the networks and cable TV channels for an off-the-record preview discussion of his Tuesday night State of the Union speech.

Former Democratic Chief Counsel: Ted Kennedy Disgraced Himself
Jerry Zeifman
Monday, Jan. 30, 2006

In my view (as a Democrat and former chief counsel to the House Judiciary Committee), Senator Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., has disgraced himself and our party by misusing his position on the Senate Judiciary Committee to achieve self-serving partisan ends.

Kennedy was the architect of an unprecedented tactic: using filibusters to polarize the Senate along party lines thus denying the confirmation of qualified conservative judges. In Bush's first term the Senate Democrats used that tactic successfully against at least 10 nominees for judgeships on circuit courts.

Fortunately, Kennedy has failed in his partisan attempt to deny Judge Alito a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Rally Report

It was a successful weekend for me, the rally on Saturday at the gates of Davis Monthan was a resounding success.

We had a total of 17 people there by the time we wrapped things up, and 2 weeks from now promises to be even better.

I wont get into the specifics of the day, except to say that the ratio of cheers for us to jeers to us was about 1000 to 1, with 1 dissenter for every 1000 supporters.

I took some pictures, but unfortunately, all I had available was my camera phone, so they are low quality, but you get the idea.

The first people that I met were the Lucero family they were the most significant people I met this day, and the reason will be made clear shortly

The is Mr Lucero Jr, he served in the United States Army proudly.

This is Mr Lucero SR, he served VOLUNTARILY In the United States Marine Corps, for 3 tours in Vietnam, he didnt need to be punked into service by being drafted, he proudly stood up and volunteered, not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES.

These are the younger Luceros, names witheld.

The reason these people stuck out so vividly for me and the rest of the people there is that they lost a son in 2004 in Iraq who served in the family tradition of the military, their son was Joshua Lucero. He was killed in 2004 in action in Iraq, did they let that deter them from proudly standing up for their country...??...?? NO...they stood proudly to proclaim, FREEDOM ISNT FREE and the only way to insure freedom is to fight. They gave me a button memoralising their son who died an american hero

The next people I met were Pat

And her husband Bob

Pat is a MASTER at organising and getting people together for events, some of her notable actions are the Wednesday morning protests at the recruiting center on Speedway and the every 4th Monday morning protest of depleted uranium at Davis Monthan. She was successful in getting a majority of the people present on Saturday morning. Pat is originally from Guadalajara (I Hope that is right) and became a naturalised citizen in the United States using LEGAL channels. Everything about her and her husband exuded patriotism, right down to her backpack musical package of patriotic songs which loudly plays to urge her and her fellow patriots on.

The highlight of the day was a visit from 2 air force pilots from the Netherlands. They are visiting and training at Davis Monthan with 4 others from their country in the F-16. They talked to Pat and Myself and let us know that back in the Netherlands, they do not see the type of patriotic support that we show here in the United States. They were very much impressed that we were taking time from our own lives to say thank you to the brave men and woman of our armed forces, and they gathered us together for a group picture which they are going to email back home with a report to a dutch magazine for possible publication. They graciously posed for a picture

There were many more people who stopped and took the time to thank us, both military and non-military, Gold star parents and others. The biggest charcter we had there though was Wayne, from American protest He was very vocal and is a proud american, he was a pleasure to have with us.

On a parting note there is another family who will be most likely joining us for our next rally on Feb 11. They are the Zurheide family. The also lost a son in Iraq

Once I get their story I will post it.

All in all it was a proud day to be an american, supporting our troops, reinforcing our message that the american people are behind our military, our president and those who work with us in this process.

God Bless America

As usual......

Tammy Bruce hits the nail on the head

"All of us at one point or another have realized that a Leftist crowing "I support the troops, but..." is indeed b.s. While I would generally never suggest that a dissenter over American policy doesn't love this nation, when it comes to the left's attacks on the WoT and support for the enemy, it's a whole different ball game.

They hate this country, Western civilization and perhaps even humanity because they hate themselves. This destructive based hate is a keystone to malignant narcissism. "

MORE luny liberal hypocrisy

WHEN WILL IT END??!!!???

Ted Kennedy's Club Discriminated

When Ted Kennedy tried to chastise Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito for his one-time membership in a group opposed to admitting more woman and minorities to Princeton, the pot was calling the kettle black:

Sen. Kennedy still belongs to a social club for Harvard students and alumni that was thrown off campus nearly 20 years ago after refusing to allow female members, an investigation by the Washington Times reveals.

According to the membership directory of the Owl Club, Kennedy updated his personal information as recently as September 7. Ironically, the Owl Club, long reviled at Harvard as "sexist,” was evicted from the campus in 1984 for violating federal anti-discrimination laws authored by Kennedy.

At Alito’s confirmation hearings, Kennedy brought up the nominee’s alleged membership in Concerned Alumni of Princeton (CAP), and said the nominee’s "affiliation with an organization that fought the admission of women into Princeton calls into question his appreciation for the needs for full equality in this count
When asked about the senator’s membership in the Owl Club, Kennedy spokeswoman Laura Capps told the Times there was "absolutely no comparison between the Owl Club and an effort to exclude women from Princeton.
"It’s a social club. It’s like a fraternity.”

But according to the Times, Harvard views organizations such as the Owl Club quite differently from fraternities and sororities, which are considered a form of housing and therefore are not coeducational.

Kennedy’s hypocritical attack on Alito over his membership in CAP would come as no surprise to readers of the blockbuster new book "Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy.”

Author Peter Schweizer discloses that while Kennedy has fought for the estate tax and spoken out against tax shelters, he has repeatedly benefited from an intricate web of trusts and private foundations that have shielded most of his family’s fortune from the IRS.

One Kennedy family trust wasn’t even set up in the U.S., but in Fiji.

Schweizer also reveals that while Kennedy has championed the development of alternate energy sources, he opposed a plan to build a wind-power generating facility to provide clean, cheap power to Cape Cod.
The reason: The wind turbines would be positioned off the coast from the Kennedy compound in Hyannis, in one of the family’s favorite yachting and sailing areas.

Another report on the hypocrisy of the left

From The American Thinker

Under Clinton, NY Times called surveillance "a necessity"
January 12th, 2006

The controversy following revelations that U.S. intelligence agencies have monitored suspected terrorist related communications since 9/11 reflects a severe case of selective amnesia by the New York Times and other media opponents of President Bush. They certainly didn’t show the same outrage when a much more invasive and indiscriminate domestic surveillance program came to light during the Clinton administration in the 1990’s. At that time, the Times called the surveillance “a necessity.”

“If you made a phone call today or sent an e-mail to a friend, there’s a good chance what you said or wrote was captured and screened by the country’s largest intelligence agency.” (Steve Kroft, CBS’ 60 Minutes)

Those words were aired on February 27, 2000 to describe the National Security Agency and an electronic surveillance program called Echelon whose mission, according to Kroft,

“is to eavesdrop on enemies of the state: foreign countries, terrorist groups and drug cartels. But in the process, Echelon’s computers capture virtually every electronic conversation around the world.”

Echelon was, or is (its existence has been under-reported in the American media), an electronic eavesdropping program conducted by the United States and a few select allies such as the United Kingdom.

Liberal agenda made transparent

Calif. School Sued Over Evolution Class

NewsMax.com Wires
Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006

FRESNO, Calif. -- A rural high school teaching a religion-based alternative to evolution was sued Tuesday by a group of parents who said the class should be stopped because it violates the U.S. Constitution.

Frazier Mountain High School in Lebec violated the separation of church and state while attempting to legitimize the theory of "intelligent design" by introducing it as a philosophy class taught by a minister's wife, according to the federal lawsuit filed by parents of 13 students.

"The course was designed to advance religious theories on the origins of life, including creationism and its offshoot, 'intelligent design,'" the lawsuit said. "Because the teacher has no scientific training, students are not provided with any critical analysis of this presentation."

The lawsuit was filed by Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which successfully blocked Dover, Pa., schools last month from using science courses to advance the theory that living things are so complex they must have been designed by a higher being.

Similar battles are being fought in Georgia and Kansas over the controversial subject.

An initial course description sent to parents in December said it would examine "evolution as a theory and will discuss the scientific, biological, and Biblical aspects that suggest why Darwin's philosophy is not rock solid."

The El Tejon district's Board of Trustees approved the course 3-2 with a revised syllabus in a Jan. 1 session, during which board members had to vote up or down on the entire winter session curriculum.

Classes started two days later with a class plan that relied solely on videos, not guest speakers.

The Washington, D.C.-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State said that with one exception the course "relies exclusively on videos that advocate religious perspectives and present religious theories as scientific ones."

The lawsuit filed on behalf of 11 parents seeks a temporary restraining order to halt the four-week class in its second week.

Ok, so the problem I have with this is that liberals..ACLU et all were "up in arms" because this was being presented as part of science curriculum in Dover, PA...so now in California its being presented as an elective and part of a "philosphy" class which would be the proper forum based on the shrill whining of liberals.

So now..they have a problem with it, which reveals the whole agenda

The agenda of liberals is to lie about their motives in the beginning to get a foothold on the issue, then completely attack and rip it apart with no regard for the consequences of them doing so...which is why liberals should not be allowed to alter ANY of our bill of rights..ie the 2nd amendment.

I said it before .. I Say it again .. 2 words for you liberal red diaper doper babies

More outrages.............

The liberal left has infilitrated our courts and this is what we get:

Rapist gets slap on the wrist

There was outrage Wednesday when a Vermont judge handed out a 60-day jail sentence to a man who raped a little girl many, many times over a four-year span starting when she was seven.

The judge said he no longer believes in punishment and is more concerned about rehabilitation.

Prosecutors argued that confessed child-rapist Mark Hulett, 34, of Williston deserved at least eight years behind bars for repeatedly raping a littler girl countless times starting when she was seven.

But Judge Edward Cashman disagreed explaining that he no longer believes that punishment works.

"The one message I want to get through is that anger doesn't solve anything. It just corrodes your soul," said Judge Edward Cashman speaking to a packed Burlington courtroom. Most of the on-lookers were related to a young girl who was repeatedly raped by Mark Hulett who was in court to be sentenced.

The sex abuse started when the girl was seven and ended when she was ten. Prosecutors were seeking a sentence of eight to twenty years in prison, in part, as punishment.

"Punishment is a valid purpose," Chittenden Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Andreson argued to Judge Edward Cashman.

"The state recognizes that the court may not agree or subscribe to that method of sentencing but the state does. The state thinks that it is a very important factor for the court to consider," Andreson added.

But Judge Cashman explained that he is more concerned that Hulett receive sex offender treatment as rehabilitation. But under Department of Corrections classification, Hulett is considered a low-risk for re-offense so he does not qualify for in-prison treatment. So the judge sentenced him to just 60 days in prison and then Hulett must complete sex treatment when he gets out or face a possible life sentence.

Judge Cashman also also revealed that he once handed down stiff sentences when he first got on the bench 25 years ago, but he no longer believes in punishment.

"I discovered it accomplishes nothing of value;it doesn't make anything better;it costs us a lot of money; we create a lot of expectation, and we feed on anger,"Cashman explained to the people in the court.

The sentence outraged the victim's family who asked not to be identified.

"I don't like it," the victim's mother,in tears, told Channel 3. "He should pay for what he did to my baby and stop it here. She's not even home with me and he can be home for all this time, and do what he did in my house," she added.

Hulett -- who had been out on bail-- was taken away to start his sentence immediately.

Where is the outrage from Code Pink? Where is the outrage from the feminazis who spout about equal rights?

You bunch of liberal hypocrite bums..you have ruined my country.

WHAT THE HELL?????

It is rare that an event infuriates me, but I am so spitting mad about this ... Letters are being prepared and the outrage will be heard:

BULLET THE DOG RECOVERING; CHARGES AGAINST OWNER DISMISSED
By Aaron Erickson
Two good samaritans on dirt bikes found Bullet the dog the day after Christmas in the Redington Pass area. Bullet was full of-- bullets. He was rushed to an emergency vet and now he's recovering at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Initially, deputies arrested the dog's owner, Justin Curren and charged him with felony animal cruelty. When Curren showed up in court, the judge dismissed the charge because investigators didn't have enough evidence. Curren can still be charged once investigators return with more evidence. Authorities believe another person may have been involved in the shooting, since it appears bullet was shot with two different guns. Despite his recovery, the dog still has several bullets and fragments inside him. A cardiac condition, possibly created from a severe loss of blood, is preventing vets from removing the rest of the bullets and fragments.

_________________________

Ok first of all, this is outrageous...as a dog owner I am infuriated and sickened by the act in and of itself, and as a citizen seeing this guy go free, I am INCENCSED that the justice system can not seem to find its footing. Not enough evidence!!?? THEN WHAT THE F**K DID THEY ARREST HIM FOR?? If there isnt enough evidence...WHY BOTHER??

As another point, I notice that bloggers have been up in arms because some squirrel is threatened with being booted or some plant life is being harmed by oil drilling or bears are drowning, but these same bloggers are silent when it comes to this dispicable and heinous act....know what I think? There is no freaking way their liberal pansy asses can blame President Bush for this incident, so its not important

and THAT my friends is the hypocrisy which leads to further proof that LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER

One marine says it all

One Marines View speaks volumes on our progress in Iraq

It’s a nice day today a bit brisk but nice after I have my Pop Tart and Cigar breakfast I read about how some article is boasting about how the support for President Bush and the fight in Iraq is dropping from troops. This is a pretty good article……………..a good article to poop ON! Give me a break, the democrat that wrote this article that based it off a Military Times Poll is another example how desperate the Dumboscabs are and how weak their attempts are to bruise the Boss. The article even disproves itself when it states, the survey was conducted through the mail, which affects the sample and margin of error. (Obviously they have never shipped anything to support the troops overseas) “Moreover, as the Military Times noted, respondents to the poll tend to be "older, more experienced, more likely to be officers and more career-oriented than the military population." For all those future article writers out there, know that there are almost three times the amount of enlisted service members in all branches than officers, you do the math. Another point, they are saying troops back in the states are stating that “The poll also found diminished optimism that U.S. goals in Iraq can be accomplished’ Well another note to future article writers………..get your facts from the ones doing the work on the ground, actually seeing the results…….bright one!

Murtha at it again

Thanks to Tammy Bruce we now know this little tidbit of information from Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Rep. John Murtha, a key Democratic voice who favors pulling U.S. troops from Iraq, said in remarks airing on Monday that he would not join the U.S. military today.

A decorated Vietnam combat veteran who retired as a colonel after 37 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Murtha told ABC News' "Nightline" program that Iraq "absolutely" was a wrong war for President George W. Bush to have launched.

"Would you join (the military) today?," he was asked in an interview taped on Friday.

"No," replied Murtha of Pennsylvania, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives subcommittee that oversees defense spending and one of his party's leading spokesmen on military issues.
