How the imams terrorized an airliner

Muslim religious leaders removed from a Minneapolis flight last week exhibited behavior associated with a security probe by terrorists and were not merely engaged in prayers, according to witnesses, police reports and aviation security officials.
Witnesses said three of the imams were praying loudly in the concourse and repeatedly shouted "Allah" when passengers were called for boarding US Airways Flight 300 to Phoenix.
"I was suspicious by the way they were praying very loud," the gate agent told the Minneapolis Police Department.
Passengers and flight attendants told law-enforcement officials the imams switched from their assigned seats to a pattern associated with the September 11 terrorist attacks and also found in probes of U.S. security since the attacks -- two in the front row first-class, two in the middle of the plane on the exit aisle and two in the rear of the cabin.
"That would alarm me," said a federal air marshal who asked to remain anonymous. "They now control all of the entry and exit routes to the plane."
A pilot from another airline said: "That behavior has been identified as a terrorist probe in the airline industry."
But the imams who were escorted off the flight in handcuffs say they were merely praying before the 6:30 p.m. flight on Nov. 20, and yesterday led a protest by prayer with other religious leaders at the airline's ticket counter at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Mahdi Bray, executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, called removing the imams an act of Islamophobia and compared it to racism against blacks.
"It's a shame that as an African-American and a Muslim I have the double whammy of having to worry about driving while black and flying while Muslim," Mr. Bray said.
The protesters also called on Congress to pass legislation to outlaw passenger profiling.
Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, Texas Democrat, said the September 11 terrorist attacks "cannot be permitted to be used to justify racial profiling, harassment and discrimination of Muslim and Arab Americans."
"Understandably, the imams felt profiled, humiliated, and discriminated against by their treatment," she said.
According to witnesses, police reports and aviation security officials, the imams displayed other suspicious behavior.
Three of the men asked for seat-belt extenders, although two flight attendants told police the men were not oversized. One flight attendant told police she "found this unsettling, as crew knew about the six [passengers] on board and where they were sitting." Rather than attach the extensions, the men placed the straps and buckles on the cabin floor, the flight attendant said.
The imams said they were not discussing politics and only spoke in English, but witnesses told law enforcement that the men spoke in Arabic and English, criticizing the war in Iraq and President Bush, and talking about al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.
The imams who claimed two first-class seats said their tickets were upgraded. The gate agent told police that when the imams asked to be upgraded, they were told no such seats were available. Nevertheless, the two men were seated in first class when removed.
A flight attendant said one of the men made two trips to the rear of the plane to talk to the imam during boarding, and again when the flight was delayed because of their behavior. Aviation officials, including air marshals and pilots, said these actions alone would not warrant a second look, but the combination is suspicious.
"That's like shouting 'fire' in a crowded theater. You just can't do that anymore," said Robert MacLean, a former air marshal.
"They should have been denied boarding and been investigated," Mr. MacLean said. "It looks like they are trying to create public sympathy or maybe setting someone up for a lawsuit."
The pilot with another airline who talked to The Washington Times on condition of anonymity, said he would have made the same call as the US Airways pilot.
"If any group of passengers is commingling in the terminal and didn't sit in their assigned seats or with each other, I would stop everything and investigate until they could provide me with a reason they did not sit in their assigned seats."
One of the passengers, Omar Shahin, told Newsweek the group did everything it could to avoid suspicion by wearing Western clothes, speaking English and booking seats so they were not together. He said they conducted prayers quietly and separately to avoid attention.
The imams had attended a conference sponsored by the North American Imam Federation in Minneapolis and were returning to Phoenix. Mr. Shahin, who is president of the federation, said on his Web site that none of the passengers made pro-Saddam or anti-American statements.
The pilot said the airlines are not "secretly prejudiced against any nationality, religion or culture," and that the only target of profiling is passenger behavior.
"There are certain behaviors that raise the bar, and not sitting in your assigned seat raises the bar substantially," the pilot said. "Especially since we know that this behavior has been evident in suspicious probes in the past."
"Someone at US Airways made a notably good decision," said a second pilot, who also does not work for US Airways.
A spokeswoman for US Airways declined to discuss the incident. Aviation security officials said thousands of Muslims fly every day and conduct prayers in airports in a quiet and private manner without creating incidents.

Amazing how things change when you wait for all the facts to come out. According to some liberal blogs, this whole incident was the result of profiling alone...but wait...there is more! As you can see, it wasnt just one thing that led to these guys being yanked.

Either these guys are testing airlines for weakness in preperation for another attack, or they just simply wanted something to be able to sue over. Either way, what they did was wrong. What was with the seatbelt extenders? Maybe to use as a weapon to hit or strangle someone? How about the fact mentioned in previous articles that 3 of them had 1 way tickets and no luggage? They purposely covered all of the exits, not sitting in their assigned seats...wth? Sitting in first class when you dont have a ticket for that area?

This stinks to high heaven...and I am beginning to believe that US Airways prevented something that day, I do not know what as I can not quite place my finger on it, but my gut instinct tells me they were up to something no good.

Raven over at And Rightly So! Has a post about Wal-Mart and John Edwards..you remember, hes the good looking lad who ran opposite FrankenKerry in 04...talk about your beauty and the beast! (as far as guys go that is...I am no judge or expert in this arena, just from what I have been told!)

Anyway, it seems ole Johnny was over at a Barnes & Noble for a book signing in Manchester, NH...apparently his choice of venues leaves a little to be desired because its RIGHT NEXT DOOR to a Wal-Mart.

Now let me preface what I am about to say with a little history on Wal-Mart and me. First, I stopped shopping at Wal-Mart about 8 years ago, it has to do with a personal boycott that I placed on them due to their products and where they come from (Mainly mostly China....I gotta make a note, that is a good title for a song!lol) There was that AND I found out they undermine their employees who work there. I have always been a STRONG backer of unions, mainly because they keep management in check and make sure the big guy doesnt walk all over the little guy. Its a problem that I have seen many times in non-union jobs with guys getting canned for no reason other than the boss is an insensitive cry baby jackass (AHEM...my current boss) Getting canned for no reason is something I just cant see....and I have a REAL problem with the people who bloviate that if you are doing your job, you wont get fired...this is SIMPLY not true.

Where was I going with this?

Oh yeah, anyway, ole Johnny boy set up shop next to the Wal-Mart and started bloviating (that is my new word of the day .. lol ) About how Wal-Mart is the evil empire and should pay its employees better. Well...I agreed with that premise until I read the following:

The Barnes & Noble where Edwards will hawk his book pays $7 an hour to start. The Wal-Mart that sits just yards away pays $7.50 an hour.

As of now I lift my request on my friends and family to not shop at Wal-Mart...I encourage them to...I wont do it...no way...no how...uh uh. But I will no longer bemoan those who do. I stil have personal reasons for not going (Ever seen the class of people that are in there? And have you ever noticed how the stores are ALMOST NEVER clean?)

I still however remain a strong backer of unions, provided they are giving back to their members what is expected in return for that payroll deduction..ie: Pensions, contract negotiations for a fair work environment and pay that is commensurate with the work being done. A perfect example of this is the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, of which I was a member of local 595 for a few years. They did an OUTSTANDING job of negotiating and providing training for quality work. I know I know...there are corrupt unions out there (the textile workers union comes to mind) But for the most part, unions are a thing of beauty.

Go ye forth and shop at Wal-Mart, just remember to keep your lysol, mace and hand sanitiser handy at all times.

Democrats Pledge Array of Investigations

The incoming chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee is promising an array of oversight investigations that could provoke sharp disagreement with Republicans and the White House.

Oversight - translation..investigations and waste of resources

Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., pledged that Democrats, swept to power in the Nov. 7 elections, would govern "in the middle" next year. But the veteran lawmaker has a reputation as one who has never avoided a fight and he did not back away from that reputation on Sunday.

In the middle? Um....yeah...not possible with the dhimmicraps

Among the investigations he said he wants the committee to undertake:

_The new Medicare drug benefit. "There are lots and lots and lots of scandals," he said, without citing specifics.

Nor will he EVER be able to cite specifics...the dhimmicraps work on half-truths and rumors, that if repeated often enough, become truth and fact in Joe Voters mind

_Spending on government contractors in Iraq, including Halliburton Co., the Texas-based oil services conglomerate once led by Vice President Dick Cheney.

You mean the one President Clinton signed on in 1994?

_An energy task force overseen by Cheney. It "was carefully cooked to provide only participation by oil companies and energy companies," Dingell said.

Um...those are the ones who would know the most about it doofus!

_A review of food and drug safety, particularly in the area of nutritional supplements.

Meanwhile, the incoming chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee said his committee would not take on contentious issues, such as extending expiring tax cuts or overhauling Social Security, at the beginning of the year. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., said Democrats do not want a fight with President Bush and want to prove they can govern.

And YET...their first item on the agenda is investigations...tell me about hypocrisy again you draft calling buffoon!

"The first thing we're going to do is try to work together on things we know we can accomplish," Rangel said. "Rather than have the committee against the president, it's not going to happen," Rangel said.

I will believe it when I see it.

Rep. Barney Frank, set to lead the House Financial Services Committee, said issues such as raising the minimum wage will be popular, even thought the idea has been identified with liberals.

"In my own committee, the biggest difference you're going to see is we're going to return to try to help deal with the housing crisis that blights so many parts of our country socially and economically," said Frank, D-Mass.

Translation - More government welfare programs

Frank, who in 1987 became the first member of Congress to voluntarily make his homosexuality public, also said he wants to modify the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. The current policy prohibits officials from inquiring about the sex lives of service members and requires discharges of those who openly acknowledge being gay.

"One of things I do want to address, yes, is discrimination based on sexual orientation," Frank said.

"In fact, what we have is a shortfall in the military. I think when you have people being fired who can read Arabic and understand Arabic, because of what they do when they're off duty, that that's a grave error. But that's not what we're going to begin with."

Um...when people signed up for the military, they knew that homosexuality is frowned upon...so how is that a grave error on the part of leadership? I signed on to my company knowing that stealing is frowned upon...does that mean I can take what I want and question their motives and policies when I am fired?

A report in 2005 by the investigative arm of Congress estimated it cost the Pentagon nearly $200 million to recruit and train replacements for the nearly 9,500 troops that had to leave the military because of the policy. The losses included hundreds of highly skilled troops, including translators, between 1994 through 2003.

Mississippi Sen. Trent Lott, who will become the Senate's second- ranking GOP leader, said Republicans still have enough clout to block legislation "if it's really bad, not in the country's best interest." But he also said he wanted to find areas where the two sides can compromise.

"The people, I think, sent us a message. I think we've got it," Lott said. "We're going to be working hard together."

The lawmakers appeared on "Fox News Sunday."

Senator arrested in probation violation

State Sen. Gary Siplin, D-Orlando, was arrested Wednesday because he took a trip to Tallahassee this week to meet with fellow legislators without his probation officer's permission, officials said.

He was booked into the Orange County Jail without bail about 5 p.m., and was released later Wednesday night.

The senator is not allowed to leave Orange County without permission -- even for his work in the state's capitol -- according to his probation officer's report.

Senate Democratic Leader Steve Geller of Hallandale Beach called the action "persecution rather than prosecution." Geller said Siplin was trying to balance two legal obligations stemming from his conviction and his service as a state legislator.

Earlier this month, Orange Circuit Judge Julie O'Kane sentenced Siplin to three years probation, 300 hours of community service and court fines. A jury convicted him in August of felony grand theft and using state employees to work on his campaign while on the state's clock, which is a misdemeanor. Prosecutors say he used taxpayer money to pay staff working on his 2004 re-election campaign.

10 Is the New 15 As Kids Grow Up Faster
Zach Plante is close with his parents - he plays baseball with them and, on weekends, helps with work in the small vineyard they keep at their northern California home.

Lately, though, his parents have begun to notice subtle changes in their son. Among other things, he's announced that he wants to grow his hair longer - and sometimes greets his father with "Yo, Dad!"

"Little comments will come out of his mouth that have a bit of that teen swagger," says Tom Plante, Zach's dad.

Thing is, Zach isn't a teen. He's 10 years old - one part, a fun-loving fifth-grader who likes to watch the Animal Planet network and play with his dog and pet gecko, the other a soon-to-be middle schooler who wants an iPod
In some ways, it's simply part of a kid's natural journey toward independence. But child development experts say that physical and behavioral changes that would have been typical of teenagers decades ago are now common among "tweens" - kids ages 8 to 12.

Some of them are going on "dates" and talking on their own cell phones. They listen to sexually charged pop music, play mature-rated video games and spend time gossiping on MySpace. And more girls are wearing makeup and clothing that some consider beyond their years.

Zach is starting to notice it in his friends, too, especially the way they treat their parents.

"A lot of kids can sometimes be annoyed by their parents," he says. "If I'm playing with them at one of their houses, then they kind of ignore their parents. If their parents do them a favor, they might just say, 'OK,' but not notice that much."

The shift that's turning tweens into the new teens is complex - and worrisome to parents and some professionals who deal with children. They wonder if kids are equipped to handle the thorny issues that come with the adolescent world.

"I'm sure this isn't the first time in history people have been talking about it. But I definitely feel like these kids are growing up faster - and I'm not sure it's always a good thing," says Dr. Liz Alderman, an adolescent medicine specialist at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. She's been in practice for 16 years and has noticed a gradual but undeniable change in attitude in that time.

She and others who study and treat children say the reasons it's happening are both physical and social.

Several published studies have found, for instance, that some tweens' bodies are developing faster, with more girls starting menstruation in elementary school - a result doctors often attribute to improved nutrition and, in some cases, obesity. While boys are still being studied, the findings about girls have caused some endocrinologists to lower the limits of early breast development to first or second grade.

Along with that, even young children are having to deal with peer pressure and other societal influences.

Beyond the drugs, sex and rock'n'roll their boomer and Gen X parents navigated, technology and consumerism have accelerated the pace of life, giving kids easy access to influences that may or may not be parent-approved. Sex, violence and foul language that used to be relegated to late-night viewing and R-rated movies are expected fixtures in everyday TV.

And many tweens model what they see, including common plot lines "where the kids are really running the house, not the dysfunctional parents," says Plante, who in addition to being Zach's dad is a psychology professor at Santa Clara University in California's Silicon Valley.

He sees the results of all these factors in his private practice frequently.

Kids look and dress older. They struggle to process the images of sex, violence and adult humor, even when their parents try to shield them. And sometimes, he says, parents end up encouraging the behavior by failing to set limits - in essence, handing over power to their kids.

"You get this kind of perfect storm of variables that would suggest that, yes, kids are becoming teens at an earlier age," Plante says.

Natalie Wickstrom, a 10-year-old in suburban Atlanta, says girls her age sometimes wear clothes that are "a little inappropriate." She describes how one friend tied her shirt to show her stomach and "liked to dance, like in rap videos."

Girls in her class also talk about not only liking but "having relationships" with boys.

"There's no rules, no limitations to what they can do," says Natalie, who's also in fifth grade.

Her mom, Billie Wickstrom, says the teen-like behavior of her daughter's peers, influences her daughter - as does parents' willingness to allow it.

"Some parents make it hard on those of us who are trying to hold their kids back a bit," she says.

So far, she and her husband have resisted letting Natalie get her ears pierced, something many of her friends have already done. Now Natalie is lobbying hard for a cell phone and also wants an iPod.

"Sometimes I just think that maybe, if I got one of these things, I could talk about what they talk about," Natalie says of the kids she deems the "popular ones."

It's an age-old issue. Kids want to fit in - and younger kids want to be like older kids.

But as the limits have been pushed, experts say the stakes also have gotten higher - with parents and tweens having to deal with very grown-up issues such as pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Earlier this year, that point hit home when federal officials recommended a vaccine for HPV - a common STD that can lead to cervical cancer - for girls as young as age 9.

"Physically, they're adults, but cognitively, they're children," says Alderman, the physician in New York. She's found that cultural influences have affected her own children, too.

Earlier this year, her 12-year-old son heard the popular pop song "Promiscuous" and asked her what the word meant.

"I mean, it's OK to have that conversation, but when it's constantly playing, it normalizes it," Alderman says.

She observes that parents sometimes gravitate to one of two ill-advised extremes - they're either horrified by such questions from their kids, or they "revel" in the teen-like behavior. As an example of the latter reaction, she notes how some parents think it's cute when their daughters wear pants or shorts with words such as "hottie" on the back.

"Believe me, I'm a very open-minded person. But it promotes a certain way of thinking about girls and their back sides," Alderman says. "A 12-year-old isn't sexy."

With grown-up influences coming from so many different angles - from peers to the Internet and TV - some parents say the trend is difficult to combat.

Claire Unterseher, a mother in Chicago, says she only allows her children - including an 8-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter - to watch public television.

And yet, already, they're coming home from school asking to download songs she considers more appropriate for teens.

"I think I bought my first Abba single when I was 13 or 14 - and here my 7-year-old wants me to download Kelly Clarkson all the time," Unterseher says. "Why are they so interested in all this adult stuff?"

Part of it, experts say, is marketing - and tweens are much-sought-after consumers.

Advertisers have found that, increasingly, children and teens are influencing the buying decisions in their households - from cars to computers and family vacations. According to 360 Youth, an umbrella organization for various youth marketing groups, tweens represent $51 billion worth of annual spending power on their own from gifts and allowance, and also have a great deal of say about the additional $170 billion spent directly on them each year.

Toymakers also have picked up on tweens' interest in older themes and developed toy lines to meet the demand - from dolls known as Bratz to video games with more violence.

Diane Levin, a professor of human development and early childhood at Wheelock College in Boston, is among those who've taken aim at toys deemed too violent or sexual.

"We've crossed a line. We can no longer avoid it - it's just so in our face," says Levin, author of the upcoming book "So Sexy So Soon: The Sexualization of Childhood."

Earlier this year, she and others from a group known as the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood successfully pressured toy maker Hasbro to drop plans for a line of children's toys modeled after the singing group Pussycat Dolls.

Other parents, including Clyde Otis III, are trying their own methods.

An attorney with a background in music publishing, Otis has compiled a line of CDs called "Music Talking" that includes classic oldies he believes are interesting to tweens, but age appropriate. Artists include Aretha Franklin, Rose Royce and Blessid Union of Souls.

"I don't want to be like a prude. But some of the stuff out there, it's just out of control sometimes," says Otis, a father of three from Maplewood, N.J.

"Beyonce singing about bouncing her butt all over the place is a little much - at least for an 8-year-old."

In the end, many parents find it tricky to strike a balance between setting limits and allowing their kids to be more independent.

Plante, in California, discovered that a few weeks ago when he and Zach rode bikes to school, as the two of them have done since the first day of kindergarten.

"You know, dad, you don't have to bike to school with me anymore," Zach said.

Plante was taken aback.

"It was a poignant moment," he says. "There was this notion of being embarrassed of having parents be too close."

Since then, Zach has been riding by himself - a big step in his dad's mind.

"Of course, it is hard to let go, but we all need to do so in various ways over time," Plante says, "as long as we do it thoughtfully and lovingly, I suppose."

Its a parents responsibility to slow them down a bit, give them structure, influence them and prepare them for the real world.

Sadly, some parents fail in this endeavour....is it their own faults? Not always. Often its just over-compensating for some other event, be it divorce, abuse or guilt on the parents part. What can the community do? I have no idea...any suggestions?

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was filled with friends, family, love and fellowship. I had my fill of turkey...and then some.

I woke up this morning actually chilled...had to get up and turn on the heater, first time in a while. Now, here I sit at my desk, warm coffee in front of me, room warming and getting me prepared to start a bright new day.

I was lazy yesterday, just lounged around and read blogs. I ran across an entry which can NOT be missed over at Mikes America where he breaks down Islamofacism and its threat to the world if we dont speak up. Conservatives lend themselves to be a silent majority, and as I posted in his comments, "The peacenicks are loud, boisterous, aggressive and have the media in the palm of their hand. As long as they are the only ones who are this way, the stuffed shirts in Washington will perceive this to be the reality of the American opinion." I cant help but think of the BMW commercial when I say this, you know the slogan, Perception is not always reality.

Who am I?

For some reason I am compelled to write this up, its me...my background, who I am and why I changed from Liberalism to Conservatism. Hold on to your hats...there will be no comments allowed to be made, and this post will slowly sink down and disappear.

Here we go.

I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA the true liberal mecca of the modern age. My dad and mom were (still are) Dhimmicats and raised me in a household where tolerance is expected for all things. My dad worked for a major company and made pretty good money, but we werent rich by any stretch of the dollar or the imagination. We had food, we had clothing, and we had a loving household of 6 kids. My dad was a union worker, and took pride in not crossing picket lines and fighting the good fight for what was fair to the worker.

My mom was the devoted housewife, staying home to take care of the household and raise the kids. It was a scene straight out of Americana. All was well until my 9th year when my parents decided to divorce. This was after my dad had his first heart attack, was medically retired, his pay cut in half and life being made up of bologna sandwiches, meatloaf (ick) and the power being cut off for 3 months due to non-payment of the bill. Throughout this time and up until my mom and dad announced their seperation, they had tried VALIANTLY to keep up some sense of normalcy around the house.

My dad moved to San Jose, and I stayed at home with my 2 brothers (all the rest had grown up and moved out) My mom went to work at 2 full-time jobs and we almost never saw her. When she was home though and we spent time together, she made it the best possible time with her children. Mom loved us, and it showed.

Meanwhile, my dad did his best to maintain contact with us be there for us...the time we spent with him was quality time and we never doubted his love or devotion to us. There were some revelations in this time, too personal to go into here...but suffice it to say my dad had some faults.

In 6th grade (I was 11) I had a teacher named Mr Crowe. Mr Crowe was a veteran of World War 2 and when you entered his classroom it was like living in small town America, with flags and patriotism sprouting forth. There was a time when we were being taught Music Appreciation - Remember those classes? Having to learn about all music, not just the kind you listen to? - He was teaching us O beautiful. I was the class joker and thought it would be funny to continue the last word beyond what everyone else singing, you know the part...from sea to shining seaaaaaa. I have no clue even to this day WHY I did that, just that I did. When I had finished Mr Crowe was up in my face and chastising me for making a mockery of America. He went into a 15 minute lecture on the men and woman who have died fighting for us and he was apalled that I would take that so lightly. Long story short...in that 15 minutes he instilled in me a sense of American pride, of patriotism and an understanding of sacrifice. It was the most effective lesson that will be firmly embedded in my psychie forever...but as a teen, you seem to forget, albeit temporarily.

I was 12 and going through confirmation at church at the behest of bestest friend. After I had my first communion, I left church, and didnt look back for many many years.

Fast forward to 9th grade English, 3rd period. My teacher, Ms Reznick, was a russian immigrant who was american as apple pie, mom or baseball. Every morning at the beginning of class the announcements were read over the school PA system, and at the end, we all rose and said the pledge of alligiance. I went along with the program until the Reagen Iran-Contra affair scandal started. I was disappointed that our President would be implicated in such a thing and started researching in the school library on my lunch hour what my rights were and how I could show my displeasure. This started my desire for activism. I found a court case from 1974 in which the United States Supreme Court ruled that a student may sit out the pledge of allegiance for reasons of protest, religious belief (Or non-belief) or medical reasons. This gave me the fodder I needed to be able to protest. The plan was to sit out the Pledge during Ms Reznicks class. As it turned out, this was to be another defining moment for my patriotism.

The next day I sat it out and Ms Reznick pulled me out of class to speak to me in the hallway, she asked why I sat out and I told her it was in protest. She let me know in no uncertain terms that I was to be expected to rise during the pledge, I said no. She said, fine, you can go to the office and went and filled out a referral slip.

I went down to the Vice-Principals office, handed the secreatary my referral and copped a squat, fuming and going over my argument in my head. The Vice Principal called me in, asked me what was going on, told me to stand, wrote no action taken on the referral and sent me back to class. Ms Reznick didnt like this at all and promised to discuss the situation with the Vice Principal.

Next day, same situation, pledge started, I copped a squat, Ms Reznick sent me to the office. This time the Vice Principal advised me I would spend 3 days in detention for disrespect ... I fumed .. told her she was violating my rights, and that I had the right to sit out the pledge in protest. She made a deal with me...write a paper on WHY I am protesting, the reasons behind it, turn it into Ms Reznick and if it warrants a fair and lawful argument, I would not sit the 3 days of detention. So I did.

I got an F on the paper, apparently my reasons for protesting were unfounded. Turns out I had only been listening to the nightly news and believed everything they told me. So here I was in the Vice Principals office. She explained to me WHY I was wrong, punched holes in my arguments and provided data to back her up. So into detention I was to go.

Not deterred I decided to appeal to my Principal, Mr Robert Keropian. I got an appointment, and was in his office waiting on him when I spotted several pictures on the walls of him and Ronald Reagen playing golf, shaking hands, having dinner with him. I sunk in my chair knowing I was going to lose this battle even before it started. IN he walked, sat down and asked me what he could do for me.

I pleaded my case. Showing him the Supreme Court decision, explaining why I was sitting out. He asked me to at least stand for the pledge, not recite it and he would nix the 3 days detention. I relented and agreed to his terms. On the way out he stopped me and asked me to take some time on a lunch break to sit down with Ms Reznick and talk it out with her.

So I did.

1 week later and I was in her classroom and she told me the story of her growing up and being economically disparaged, having to work when she was 8, how life was in the Soviet Union, and why what Reagen was doing was the best thing for the world that could ever happen. She asked me my background and got to know me a little bit. I dont know what it was about her, but I opened up and let everything out. She put an arm around me and said we were not all that different and that she understood. Wiping a tear from her eye, she told me that she was here for me.

I left the classroom with a new understanding of life and an appreciation for sacrifice. And a new respect for her, which I never took advantage of...she became a part of my high school life, she became my counselor and my confidant, and she became my encourager. She never let me down, and I hope and pray that I never let her down.

When I decided to drop out of school in the 11th grade because mom was about to lose the house and I needed to provide a income by means of a full time job, Ms Reznick was right there to try and talk me out of it. When I related all the reasons why I had to she relented and asked if she could tutor me for my GED. I said yes and tutor she did....when I took the test I scored in the top 5 percentile in the country. She made a big deal out of me getting my certificate, sending me a congratulations card and well wishes and an encouragement to go to college when I was able. Turns out, I never had the time to fully go back school and get my degree, I took a few semesters, but life has a way of letting you know that you either sink or swim.

But as an adult, sometimes you forget those lessons.

Fast forward to my 21st birthday. I wholeheartedly supported the President, had a tear come to my eye when I heard the national anthem and a sense of American pride flowed through me.

Start Gulf War 1. As soon as the country of Kuwait is invaded I am at the recruiters office, begging them to get me in as soon as possible with an eye towards Shore Patrol (Air Force Military Police) Questionaires came at me and come to find out, I was disqualified....at age 15 I had a major asthma attack which required an overnight stay. I guess they dont want me out in the field having an asthma attack at a critical time...so, classified four F, I left dejected.

Turning my eye towards Law Enforcement and feeling the need to establish a career, I went through the testing and application process for a town called Redding, in the California mountains. They had 12 positions available and through the process I was on the top 5 of the list. Until I went to the oral review board.

For those who have never been through the process, you have to be interviewed by a board of 5 people, who consist of city personnel, police officers and public officials. By this time I had invested quite a bit of time, energy and gas into this venture, and was excited at the prospect of realising a dream to be a police officer. All was well until they asked me a question which I had to answer truthfully and not the way they wanted to hear it.

They give you a common sense scenario and see how you think you should respond to it. My scenario - You get called for a domestic dispute, when you arrive on scene the wife comes screaming out of the house, bloody and clothing torn screaming her husband just beat her up. Your backup arrives and you take the husband into custody for domestic violence and in the course of your investigation you find out that not only has he abused his wife, but his children as well. Question: What is your duty to the suspect under due process of law?

I knew the answer...but to tell you the truth, this board member hit on 2 situations which I have ZERO tolerance for, wife beaters and child abusers. I knew what they wanted to hear, but if I was to have chance of maintaining my personal integrity, I had to tell them truth, that if I took him downtown there would be a stop on the way in an alley with me removing my badge and gun, letting him out of his cuffs, and going man to man, thus violating his civil rights. I had to tell them that, because I didnt want to end up in jail next to the creeps that I had put there. Sorry, I have NO TOLERANCE whatsoever for these 2 types of people. They belong dead .. not breathing the same air as me.

When all was said and done, I still was number 13 on a list of 12 hires. I dropped my dream of law enforcement and went back to my boring job in customer service. Living paycheck to paycheck I knew I had a choice to make...apply for welfare and live off the system or hone my skills for a trade that would afford me money, benefits and security. I went on welfare

After 3 months I was ahead of the game and asked the state to stop sending me food stamps, it took them another 3 months before they processed that request, in the meantime, I was sending the food stamp vouchers back to them, they returned them to me, and I bounced them back ... it was a vicious circle, and only ended when I took them down to the welfare office and handed them to a case worker.

Everything I did from then on led me to where I am at today.

But in the meantime, there are bumps in the road

1994 April 30, my dad dies after struggling for almost a year with a failing heart. He is surrounded at the time by family who was by his side as he made his journey into the after-life. I have no doubt where he is right now, but that is between me and God.

Start my cycle into alcholism and despair, feeling sorry for myself and hating the world. I had a relationship with a woman who was bad for me. But I stayed with her. She was abusive, not physically, but verbally. She took advantage of me at every turn, and yet I followed her to Florida. I was drinking CONSTANTLY and keeping it from her. I was frequenting strip clubs every day, and yet she had no idea. A final straw happened and I woke up one morning and as I reached for my bottle a voice said very clearly in my head, "Time to quit or come home" It was like someone was right there, but the room was empty. I have no doubt to this day that is was the voice of God and he let me know it was time to quit being a baby and face up to reality.

I moved back to California, got back into my old company, quit drinking, joined a church, became a youth minister and havent looked back...the year was 2000.

As I got more involved in the church my sense of patriotism NEVER left me, in fact it was reinforced. Good things started happening for me, and I was fulfilled in a way that I never believed was possible.

God put some problems into my life, and I helped those people...and through the grace of God, their lives were saved, now they are productive members of society, and I love them to death.

While Clinton was President and the Lewinsky scandal came up, through my alcoholic stupor I supported him, saying repeatedly that what went on was between him, his wife and his daughter, not America. But when he got up and under oath testified that he in no way had "sexual relations" with her and was proven to be lying, I turned my back on him. He lied..under oath..and that was unforgiveable. Doesnt matter the reason he made it there, he had a chance to tell the truth, and he failed.

By now I was more conservative in my approach to politics than ever. And I decided to change my registration from Democrat to Republican. I had been watching very carefully what was happening with the San Francisco liberals, Pelosi and Feinstein, and saw their hypocrisy shine like a beacon. I decided that their agenda no longer fit who I was and it was time to change.

On September 11, 2001 I watched in abject horror as the first tower was burning on television. I was glued to the TV and couldnt move. As the 2nd plane hit my mind was turned reeling, I had to watch the reruns of it 4 or 5 time before it sank in. I was in tears. When the first tower collapsed I was so overwhelmed that I fell to my knees and prayed to God that his will would be done. When the 2nd tower collapsed I was a heap. The last words I heard as I turned off the television, 2 hours late for work was, "this appears to be a terrorist attack" I knew then and there we were going to war.

I bought an american flag and joined my co-workers in comforting each other. From then on, I pledged to stand behind George Bush, no matter what. And I have honored that vow that I made before my friends, co-workers and God.

In 2005 I moved to Arizona and joined Protestwarrior. A few weeks later, I applied for and became the Chapter leader. And I decided to do something about the lies and attacks against our country. And that is where I am today.

This war and the brave men and woman who have volunteered to help fight it is very personal to me. As an American, I have an obligation to honor the memory of every american who has died defending my freedoms or being an innocent victim on a fateful day of terror. IN honoring that pledge I made 5 years ago, I back our troops, I back our President, I back the war on terror, I back everything American and family and I stand proud as a Christian, knowing I am not perfect, never will be until my day comes, knowing that God forgives me my sins through his one and only son Jesus Christ.

I stand as an American.

This is my story, the scaled down version. It is who I am. You either deal with or you dont, if you dont, then you do not deal with me. Simple.

You are either with us...or against us.

The Tucson chapter of Protestwarrior wants to thank and salute everyone who participated in this rally. It is with pride that we stood with the members of Support America, Support our troops...The Cochise County Republicans..The Minutemen...The Freedom Riders..and other various un-named organisations (at their request) We showed the city of Sierra Vista and its citizens that there are people who care and support our troops.

We would also like to thank the Sierra Vista Police Department for their presence this day and commend them for not letting their emotions, or the emotions of the participants, push it beyond a peaceful assembly. We encourage Sierra Vista PD to observe Tucson PD and their handling of these types of events to fine tune their tactics and skills.

Most of all, we would like to thank the brave men and woman of our Armed Forces who have volunteered to protect the United States of America, its people and its interests world wide, and comment them for being the epitomy of professionalism and compassion in soldiering. Freedom isnt free, and these brave men and woman have stepped up to let us know that they defend that ideal, wherever they may be in the world.

Randy Graf, former contender for CD8. I always knew this guy was a decent human being and wasnt being policial with joining us. This PROVES it. He lost the election narrowly, but still found time to come out and do the right thing. This guy is the epitomy of the type of person we need in Congress.



These 2 in the foreground are the younger Luceros, their brother Joshua died in Iraq, fighting for the right of the moonbats to protest. It is with some degree of irony that they now have to be out correcting the message. These kids are such INSANELY good kids and decent humans that I cant help but feel there is hope for the future



Moonbats from Sierra Vista setup camp in our territory, they were kept (by us) and pushed back about 10 feet behind the speed limit signs.



This is the moonbat contingent from Tucson...as practiced as we are with one another, as soon as they saw us, they took up residence across the street where you see them in this picture. What they didnt realise was that Sierra Vista PDs lack of experience with these situations would have allowed them to intermingle with us. Tucson PD NEVER allows them to intermingle with us for 2 reasons, 1-to prevent any violence 2-As a psychological statement that shenanigans arent allowed. They have been know to be violent in the past, throwing the first blows, so I am glad they decided to not mingle, with some of the vets from Sierra Vista there, it could have gotten ugly with their boisterousness.



Sierra Vista Police officer, this guy was something else...he is a vet, and he appreciated our efforts, though he couldnt come right out and say it.

Thanksgiving, what I am thankful for

Today, I am thankful that I have the right to sit here and freely say what is on my mind, without fear of Government censorship. I am thankful that I live where my choices have benefits or consequences, and I am free to make those decisions without the government stepping in and making that decision for me. I am thankful that I have chosen to seek out a trade which affords me good pay, good benefits and freedom to spend the money I make how I see fit.



Today, I am thankful for the United States Marine Corps, who is always the first to go in and take care of business in my name, an American Citizen.



Today, I am thankful the United States Army exists to ensure my continued freedom by defending democracy and free thinking all over the world



Today, I am thankful for the United States Air Force, who keep the skies above me free of threats. I am also thankful for the great job they do in delivering surgical strikes on targets while minimizing collateral damage.



Today, I am thankful that the United States Navy keeps the waters all over the world free and safe.



Today, I am thankful for the men and woman who keep the homeland waters safe, putting their lives on the line to rescue people in distress, take on drug runners and continue the mission of securing our borders on the sea.

Today, I am thankful for the President of the United States, George W Bush, who took on the difficult war on terror, and has stood steadfast by his pledge to seek out and destroy terrorists and those who would seek to do us harm worldwide. He promised that he would take the fight to them, and that is what he did, regardless of public opinion. I honor this man as a man, one who has shown courage and fortitude in the face of opposition and anger.

Today, I am grateful to the over 3 MILLION of my fellow citizens who have VOLUNTARILY stood up to be counted and serve us, their fellow citizens, though they do not know us, but rather do so based on a sense of honor, duty and sacrifice. It is because of them that we have freedom. It is because of brave men and woman such as PFC Rick Picquette (US Army) - a young man who is like a son to me - who is Iraq right now, protecting you and me, and fighting them, so we dont have to.

Today, I am thankful that I can freely worship how I see fit, and others can do the same to worship their God, or not worship at all. It is because of brave men such as LanceCpl Joshua Lucero (USMC) - a young man who was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq and whose dad I know and respect a great deal - that we are able to do this, without fear of the government forcing one idea down our throats.

Today, I am thankful that I have the right to keep and bear arms, and others can do the same. It is because of brave men and woman such as Lance Cpl Robert Zurheide - a young man who was killed fighting islamofascists in Iraq and whose family I know and respect a great deal - that we have this right.

But mostly, I am thankful that today, I will go to a friends house, sit down to dinner with her family, pray, eat, laugh, live and love and I will do so without reservation or hesitation.

Today, I am proud to say that I am an American. Today, I am proud to say that I am a servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today, I am proud to say that Jesus died and redeemed me of my sins. Today, I am able to sit here and say these things, without fear of someone knocking my door down, why? Because the brave men and woman of our armed forces keep us safe...they toil in sweat, fear and danger while we sit with our families eating and sharing memories, they toild in sweat, fear and danger while we sleep in our beds.

God bless our military, God bless our President, God bless our children and God bless America.

Whenever I have to go onto the Air Force base its like I am being interrogated and searched, my vehicle is opened, they look in the glove box, engine compartment, underneath etc then I have to drive through a bomb sniffing machine, and that is only AFTER someone on the base has come up, presented ID, vouched for me and signed me in. You go to the Army base...and its license, registration, general area you are headed, here is your pass, have a nice day. Security should be TIGHT during war...dont you agree?

After Mike was able to calm down he went over to the 4 police officers that he had argued with earlier to sorta bury the hatchet. I was not privy to the discussion, but later learned that Mike shook each of the cops hands and turned to walk away, as he did so, an officer followed him, pulling his ID out of his wallet, and held it a fraction of an inch from Mikes face. This cop looked PISSED, and he was letting his emotions get the best of him (Bad cop...no donut) Mike ignored him and continued walking and the officer stuffed his ID angrily back into his wallet and stomped off. For his part, I must give Mike MAJOR props for holding back. I REALLY expected Mike to turn around and just deck the guy...and honestly (Sorry Law Enforcement) the cop would have deserved it. We were there to interact and counter the moonbats....NOT the police who we support and honor wholeheartedly.

The rally was breaking up and some of the moonbats mingled in once again with us, this time for discourse...its a normal thing at these rallys..after they get their fill of lies from whoever is speaking to them, they feel ready and armed to go test their new found knowledge. Just like the kid who comes home from school after having learned to spell a new word, its predictable.

The long haired pot smoking commie hippy who I mentioned earlier smelled like weed headed over to Mike and engaged him...oy...what a mistake that could have turned out to be, luckily Mike was FULLY in control of his emotions at this point. As they stood there, I held my american flag over the head of this guy...it irritated him..but never touched him, so smartly, he kept his mouth shut about it. He and Mike went around and around until the hippie mentioned God....Mike squared his shoulders and began to evangelise to the man, getting him to admit he know the Bible and follows the tenents....but one thing he said had to have me interject...he stated, "Jesus was a pacifist" Ahem...common moonbat misconception, Jesus was NO PACIFIST....in fact he was sent to earth to fight for man and injustice...take for example his constant condemnation PUBLICLY of the Pharisees...right down to his refusal to answer questions posed to him by the Sandhedrin...No..Jesus wasnt a pacifist...A pacifist lies down and takes it...Jesus didnt do this.

So after the hippie decided he wasnt going anywhere along comes a raging granny who tried to get the attention of Mikes minor daughter by putting her hands on her arm, I angrily turned to granny and told her to take her hands off and dont touch that minor. A COMMON tactic by the left at these rallies is to isolate and argue with the kids...they think they are easy targets...the kid in our group are not, but still, we have the rule that no child will be left behind. She asked me what my INFIDEL shirt stood for.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Are you kidding me? You are here protesting, and you have no idea what an INFIDEL is?"

She said no she didnt, that is when Mikes wife Tina jumped in and explained it to her, good thing, because I would have told her to bugger off and learn a thing or 2 before going to another rally to demonstrate against America.

Ok...so that is it, when the rally ended I thanked the police for being there, all the while mulling it over in my brain if I wanted to actually pursue a complaint against them for the day for refusing to honor our permit. In the end, I decided it wasnt worth it, and calls to the City Clerks office have gone un-responded to.

As soon as we have more pictures, there will be a posting here SPECIFICALLY to them. In the meantime, meet the first of 2 crews from Tucson as they prepared and prayed for the day.

Operation: Throw lefty a curve (Part 3)

Waiting for them to begin I noticed an older lady carrying a couple of signs that belonged to the Cochise County Republicans that said "We support our troops" I stopped her and asked her why she had our signs in her arms and that removing them is theft of private property. I asked her to put them back, she threw them on the ground and said, you put em back.

ESS got red in the face, picked one of them up, marched over to where the mic was setup for the speakers and put right in the ground .. hehehe .. then came back over. I chuckled and said she should have put it closer to traffic but she shrugged...it didnt take long for another moonbat to pick it up and toss it to the side. The other one I placed in front of an older man who was holding a no to torture sign and as I planted it he asked me what people were going to think of it as they drove by the support sign then the torture sign. I looked at him, chuckled and said, " I am sure the irony of you being next to a republican sign supporting the troops wont be lost on the motoring public" He glared at me and I moved away.

As their speakers were ready to begin, they sent someone over across the street to retrieve the moonbats who had lost their way and were standing in the shade of some trees. Earlier I had scanned the crowd and noticed all the usual suspects from protests in Tucson, including the bunch who had just been convicted in court of blocking a roadway in front of Raytheon. One of them is a particularly snively old lady name Gretchen who is affectionately called Wretchen by a few within our group.

Gretchen has a bad habit of name calling and getting pushy so the fact that she was arrested and convicted was somewhat of a feather in the cap of justice, though 4 out of the 5 charges against the group were dropped. All of them were ordered to pay fines and perform 8 hours of community service. Big whoop...even I would enjoy performing 8 hours of community service...hell I do more than that in a week!

Anyway, as the moonbats strode past us they glared...we made sure they had a narrow path to talk to their assembly area and Wretchen eyeballed me from about 15 feet away, when she got close enough to hear my voice I asked her if this was part of her community service....she was shocked and was about to say something but kept walking instead. Its funny what this group of people look like....unkempt, dirty and reeking of marijuana smoke, they all fit the sterotype to a tee.

As the last of their group walked past I picked up the odor of freshly smoked marijuana and a young couple, he with long hair and her wearing the hemp clothing that is so readily available I waved my hand in front of me and said loud enough for the 2 cops who were nearby to hear and said "WHEW someones been smoking weed, man that stinks" The girl started laughing and said YEP which of course caused the cops to step forward and ask her something, which I didnt hear. She wisely didnt answer and just said "can I go?" they said yes and off she went.

As they were allowed to mingle with us earlier, it was only fair that we be allowed to mingle with them, so our group started to try and make their way into the crowd...the cops formed a solid wall and told us to stay on our side of it, and that we were welcome to hold up any signs we wanted and be as loud as we want. This led to signs being put up, megaphones pulled out, car radios being turned up and patriotic music playing loudly.

I stood back and smiled inwardly, this is a tactic that they have used on us in the past, and it was about to come back and haunt them full force. Mike Lucero, a gold star father who lost his son to a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2004, was in the crowd. Next thing I know his son Sam came up to me and said his dad is about to be arrested, I asked him where he was and he pointed him out for me. As I walked up behind him he was arguing with the cops and telling them that his sons memory was being trampled on by the Sierra Vista police and why werent we allowed to mingle with them when they were allowed to be in and amongst us? He made an impassioned plea to the Sergeant for them to take their wall of uniforms down and the cop didnt relent. Mike then took off his sons memorial pin, threw it on the ground, and said, go ahead, you can be the first to trample on my son, these guys threw garbage on my sons grave, you guys go ahead and disrespect him too. (Side note, where Mikes son is buried someone had taken a garbage can and overturned it on his grave, leaving a mess there...it was deliberate and plays on Mikes mind everytime he participates in something like this) The cop bent over picked up the button, brushed it off and shined it, then handed it back to Mike saying, "We dont want to dishonor your son sir, you are the one disrespecting him here." That little bit of truth made me tense up....I half expected Mike to start swinging so I put my hand on his shoulder and squeezed hard and whispered to him, "Come on Mike, thats enough, lets go, you arent going to win" Wayne then place a hand on Mikes other shoulder and started praying out loud, Mike was tense...and I mean TENSE.

The talking continued back and forth with the Police Sergant showing a USMC tatoo to Mike and Mike asked him if he had lost a son, the cop said no, but I know where your coming from man...Mike said he had no idea what it was like to feel the way he did. Next thing you know, Mikes good friend, DB, was there and dragged Mike away. Situation averted and diffused I went back over to where ESS was standing with a pissed off look on her face, complaining about the moonbats. I just shrugged and then PW Rachel was there.

We chit chatted, then the photographer with the SV Herald walked by, Rachel said something to the effect of nice manners, have a nice day. And the photographer turned around and called Rachel an asshole, Rachel shot back that she was one who was being an asshole flipping her off, then a cop said HEY THATS ENOUGH. The photographer went over to the cop and started arguing with him, he told her that if she didnt knock it off and stop causing trouble, she was going to be removed from the rally.

Amused, I turned to Rachel for an explanation. As it turns out, she earlier wanted to strike up a casual conversation with the reporter, her question to her was, "As a journalist of integrity, how do you feel about the Reuters Fauxtography in doctoring the pictures taken in Israel and misleading information?" Apparently the photographer, missing her chance to remove herself entirely from premise that the press lies and misleads, turned around, walked away and gave Rachel a 1 finger salute.

It was a VALID question...what was the photographer trying to hide? ANY journalist with integrity would have answered the question with a non support statement of what happened. This one didnt. Hmmm.

Time to to get ready for work, we are winding our way down, and one more part should cover the rest.

Still to come, Cops harass Mike after he makes it a point to sort of apologise for his earlier behavior, and a weed smoking hippy tries discourse with Mike about God. Also to come, a moonbat needs to have infidel explained to them (so much for knowing what they are protesting ... right?) and anger from the other side causes the name calling to begin.

Operation: Throw lefty a curve (part deux)

When the moonbat in the orange jumpsuit arrived, he ended up standing on the sidewalk directly where I was. Spiff was quick to come over and start launching some truth missiles their way. As he entertained the moonbat with the dog, an angry hippie with an orange jumpsuit and hat (COPYCAT!) Was busy holding a sign out that said something about ending the torture. Wherever he held it, I made sure my american flag obscured it, a few times the flag found its way to make contact with him due to the wind and he walked away, I moved down the sidewalk in front of him and he got so frustrated, he angrily snatched a paper of out Waynes hand Wayne said, "Excuse me, I was showing that to the camera" the moonbat grumbled and groveled and handed the paper back to Wayne who continued his on-camera interview with someone from New Mexico who heard about this on Indymedia. As he moved back up the sidewalk I stayed abreast of him on the street side, he kept telling me to move and I just casually kept walking, he finally stood next to the other one with the dog (who was sweet as pie by the way) and tried the sign again. In frustration he turned around to a cop who was standing there and said, this guy is irritating me, he wont move from in front of me. The cop looked at me and said they want to avoid confrontation and asked if I could stop obscuring him, I told the officer he is more than welcome to move, I was here first...the cop looked at the moonbat and told him if he wants to be unhindered he can move down the sidewalk. He stomped away and found a new spot further down only to be crowded by 2 other of our group while I just grinned from where I stayed put.

Meanwhile...the moonbat with the dog was standing there and the cops were going to try and move them away from us, we were getting obnoxious (at least I was..on purpose) and when the officer walked up to the guys wife or gf...who was in the SAME garb, she kneeled down and put her hands behind her back, the cop asked her to move, she was silent, he looked around and was about to say something when he looked at me and I motioned my head towards a reporters camera that was pointed at him..he nodded, straightened up and moved back.

The moonbats dog then decided this would be a good time to start nudging me for attention (what can I say...dogs like me) so I scratched him behind the ears and struck up a conversation with the guy next to me. The first words out of his mouth was, "Why are you intimidated by me?" I told him I wasnt, if I was I wouldnt be standing here making sure noone on the street could see him behind my flag....I saw his shoulders slump when he realised that he was putting on the street theatre for no reason...I just chuckled.

I told him that he was full of it and that I bet if we had met somewhere besides this protest that he would be the kind of guy I could go have a beer with. His head came up in abject surprise and I added, not talking about politics though. He nodded said, "right on man...good vibes to you" WHATEVER

Now let me reveal to you the purpose of me being civil with this cretin. My purpose was nefarious...keep him on his toes wondering what the hell is going on...confusion breeds uncertainty, uncertainty leads to nervousness, nervousness leads to him getting the hell out of there and letting me have my sidewalk back to him.

We started talking about his dog, my dog etc and I paid attention to his feet, everytime he would shuffle, my boot was there to take his foots place...slowly he was getting crowded behind us. There was a cop a few feet from us (not the one from earlier) and he saw what I was doing...and seemed quite amused with it. After moonbat realised his mistake, he moved and said he will see me later...mission accomplished.

Later on, this same moonbat was by himself on a corner standing quiet and with his hands out....I had to break him so I went over and told him my pirate and the shipwheel joke...if you havent heard it, I will tell it here eventually, those that have heard it are probably lol right now. After I told it to him, he doubled over in laughter and moved, and one of our people took his spot. Mission accomplished.

Rewind a bit to the first drive by from a VERY patriotic group of motorcycle riders flying American and MIA-POW flags on their bikes....the moonbats had setup a sound system (in MY PERMITTED TERRITORY) and we playing their stupid anti-war songs...as the riders waited for their light to change, the music was drowned out ... along with our cheers in favor of their loud arrival. This got us motivated.

By this time there were approx 2:1 moonbats in their favor against us, but we were holding our lines. I viewed the lot where everyone...us and them...were parking and was quite amused to find that we had consolidated our riders into as few vehicles as we could...while they were arriving only 1 or 2 per car....so much for the environment, wouldnt you say? Yeah...we were driving SUVS and trucks...but they were FILLED to CAPACITY with people.

Are you bored yet? If you are, change the channels...because there is NO WAY I am not going to get the ENTIRE experience down here in my blog.

One thing I failed to mention was that I had my 15 year old niece (not blood, just my VERY good friends daughter) with me, she has ambitions to join the Air Force, and was excited when I mentioned this to her a few days ago and asked if she wanted to come...even though she had to get up early...she was enthusiastic and said YES! From here on out, she plays an important role...so I will refer to her as ESS.

Standing there with her after I had decided to take a break from direct anti-moon battery...we were talking. A man drove up in a SWEET looking GTO and started talking, as I walked up I wasnt sure who he was or why he was there so I greeted him with a cherry afternoon and noticed he had an infantry vanity plate on the front...I asked him if he was military and he shook his head...retired. I shook his hand, looked him in the eye and said THANK YOU...you are my hero. He was taken aback by this, I guess not expecting it and he visibly softened. At the time ESS was carrying my American Flag and I was holding an Israeli one. He asked the relevance. I told him that we stand in solidarity with Israel....he nodded and said he understood, went over to where we had our signs, grabbed one and joined us.

ESS and I were conversing when a lady stepped up to start a discourse with me. She asked why a young woman from the Freedom Riders was screaming about the moonbats featured speaker Rev Fisk, the issue was torture, not Rev Fisk. I told her that he was their selected speaker, and we will speak to his credibility....if it was Clinton, we would be talking Lewinsky and how many of his aides mysteriously died, if it was Ted Kennedy we would be speaking about Chappequidick and alcohol addiction, she nodded and started on about the border...this got ESS perked up real quick and while the moonbat was talking, ESS fired questions at her....I was very impressed....ESS was on topic and right in there...no wonder I love that kid so much.

Ok, I need to take a break for a few hours and get some things done around the house....still to come, Angry Reporters, sign stealers, frustrations getting tempers flared, a cop harasses one of our people and a convicted moonbat gets asked if this day was part of her community service.

Operation: Throw Lefty a curve

This will be the first part about Sunday, November 19th. A lot happened, so it will be split into a few parts as time allows.

For a few weeks we (myself and General Pat) have been organising a counter-protest/troop support rally in Sierra Vista, AZ against the School of The Americas watch. We had been keeping it secret because for YEARS they have gone with very little counter demonstration. That was all to change this year.

3 weeks ago, I obtained a permit from the City of Sierra Vista to hold an assemblage on the 4 corners of Fry Blvd and Buffalo Soldier Tr (Hwy 90) My permit entitled us to 75 feet on each corner east of the entrance to the base and 25 feet in front of the base. It turns out....it was useless to get that permit (more on that later)

Leading up to the event, we met with The Arizona Department of Public Safety to go over who we are, what we were doing and what our ground rules were. The detectives were very nice and accomodating and had met Pat before at different Republican and Troop rallies (this man is the head of the counter-terrorism unit, therefore, he knew us by sight) EVERYONE...including the DPS was working under the assumption that we were permitted and had legal access to the sidewalks and those were "ours"

On the Friday before the rally, we let the cat out of the bag so to speak and began talking about it openly, prior to this we had connected with the Southern Arizona Minutemen, Cochise County Republicans, Patriot Guard Riders and Freedom Riders. Irv, from the Cochise County Republicans, did a STUPENDOUS job in making calls and getting the support on Board, I cant thank him enough for his efforts.

On the morning of the rally, our group assembled here in Tucson at 11 am for the trip down there, we consolidated vehicles and began the trip down. Arring at 12:30 we quickly setup our flags and decorations, as our people were doing this, myself and General Pat made our way over to the Sgt of the Sierra Vista Police to introduce ourselves, provide a copy of our guidelines for the day and go over any last minute instructions they had for us.

We were shocked and dismayed at what we were told.

Even THOUGH we had a permit, and the sidewalks were covered by that permit, the police said they were not going to honor it. Their reasoning, its a public easement and as such is free passage. To say we were outwardly PISSED at this development was the understatement of the CENTURY. This set the tone for the day. He we are in a military town, and the cops were on the side of the liberals. Ah well...its happened before...

After decorating all 4 corners with flags, I headed over to where some MP's had gathered to introduce myself and thank them for their service. The Captain told me that they were talking to J.A.G. attornies to ask if they could keep everyone from being on the side of the base (Rumor has it that the base was on threat condition Bravo, which I believe..and I may be wrong about this..is the 2nd highest level of base readiness, I cant remember if Alpha is the highest or Delta is the highest) The Captain explained that they are considering asking us to remove our flags, the reasoning, if they allow our signs and flags, they have to allow the liberals..but if they deny us, they can deny them. I could tell the Captain was torn by this, he appreciated us, you could see it in his eyes, but he had to maintain some sense of irony...and that is that it has become politically incorrect to fly an American flag in front of an Army base.

Explaining to him that we are willing and ready to co-operate 100% fully with any requests that he makes, he got word from one of his guys that the J.A.G. decided it was ok to ask us to remove them, then bar EVERYONE from that side of the street. He turned to us and I told him, not a problem, the flags are coming down. He thanked us as he turned red in the face and I reassured him that it made perfect sense (which it did)

Gathering everything up and heading back across the street I noticed that the moonbats had begun to arrive. Spiff, from FreeRepublic, had also arrived with camera equipment in hand. He quickly made a bee-line for a truck that had pulled in and the man and woman were changing into orange jumpsuits. Also, on the other side of the street, some moonbats were complaining to the police about our presence there. Apparently, they were insulted because the corners had been "theirs" for years. They were given the same answer that we were, its a public easement and they werent going to stop anyone from protesting there. This opened the door to them mingling with us, and raising tensions on both sides. Good job Sierra Vista PD...your inexperience with counter-protest set the stage for what happened later in the day.

More to come this afternoon after I get home from work, Get ready for angry moonbats, street theatre, sign theft, them mingling with us, but us not being allowed to mingle with them, frustrations boiling over and angry newspaper photographers.
