Fire & Hammer: Will Court Case Against Westboro Baptist Hurt True Followers of Christ?

Fire & Hammer: Will Court Case Against Westboro Baptist Hurt True Followers of Christ?

I am right there with Fire and Hammer on this issue. Read the article, it speaks truth.

We are all called to teach the morals of God, but in a loving way, and being disrespectful is not being loving. It is not up to us to judge others, nor is it our place to even PRESUME to know who is going to heaven or who is going to hell. There is no way that we could ever know that until the day we stand before God.

Westboro Church is an abomination to the values that mainstream Christians hold. Yes homosexuality is a sin, yes there is a POSSIBILITY that the sinner will go to hell, YES its wrong but its not up to you, me or anyone else to condemn them for it.

Never mind the fact that these freaks of nature protest funerals. How sick is that?

The real Che Guevara

Taken from AmericanProtest.net

Che Guevara: PC Icon

by Larry Pratt
Posted: 10/26/2007

Che Guevara's image graces many a T-shirt worn in the US. Wearing one of these seems to be intended as a statement that it is good to be free of the crushing norms of a civilization tricked up by dead white men.

The T-shirt image depicts a long-haired 1960's hippy gazing steadfastly into the future.

The truth is, Ernesto "Che" Guevara, the one-time number three in Fidel Castro's thugocracy, would have had a guy looking like Guevara's semblance arrested and sent to a concentration camp known by their acronym: UMAP (Military Units for the Promotion of Production). Guevara was resolutely against rock and roll and its long-haired adherents. Long after his demise his grandson was rousted by the Cuban police for being a rocker.

Che is revered today as one who was above materialism, but he sure did not get that memo when he stole one of the largest mansions in Cuba. While he remained in Cuba, he lived and entertained in the lap of luxury.

As Minister of the Economy, Che drove Cuba into the ground. The country had been more prosperous than France, but in a short period of time, it became a place even fleeing Haitians avoided. This was not a failure in socialist terms. By impoverishing the whole country, the thugocracy ensured that there would be much less opportunity to oppose them.

The objective of Che and the Castro brothers was to monopolize power. In addition to bankrupting the country, gun confiscations were carried out the day after seizing power. As the Nazis before them in Germany, the Cuban communists used the gun registration lists of the prior government for rounding up privately owned guns.

As Lenin and Stalin before him (Che began his tenure in power signing his name as Stalin II), Che carried out executions on a daily basis. Even when there was a trial, the outcomes were not surprising -- the execution lists were posted before the trials would begin for the day. The names of the accused were the same as those on the execution lists. Che's judicial philosophy was captured in this quote: "I don't need proof to execute a man -- I only need proof that it’s necessary to execute him." (cited in Exposing the Real Che Guevara by Humberto Fontova, p. xxiii)

How ironic that the ignorant glitterati of the West so idolize Che. For example, rocker Carlos Santana (a man who would have been jailed by Che) displayed his IQ in public with this whopper: "Che is all about love and compassion, man." (Fontova, photo caption)

The good thing about Che, if it can be put that way, is that he knew nothing about military tactics and strategy. For that matter, neither did the Castro brothers. Had it not been for fawning media coverage ("I got my job through the New York Times," Castro could have said), even the incompetent Batista army could not have been overcome.

Fontova found much proof that when Che's utility in Cuba had come to an end, this potential rival was "volunteered" to the Communist insurgency of Laurence Kabila in the Congo. The one thing Che was good at when combat overtook his headlong flight was getting his men killed. Soon after Che came to "lead" the Africans, they would have nothing to do with him.

Che decided he would start from scratch and tried to make Bolivia the next Cuba. In a stroke of "brilliance" Che divided his shrinking band of warriors in the Bolivian jungle. They were totally lost. From deserters and a few survivors it is clear that they were wandering in circles. It seems that the city boys could not even relate a compass to a map. At one point the two valiant bands of wanderers even shot at each other.

When the Bolivians caught up with Che, he had earlier that morning exhorted his remaining guerillas to fight to the end. When Che -- alone and fleeing to safety -- spotted Bolivian soldiers, he threw his guns down and pled for his life. The Bolivians wisely shot him soon after -- and well before the Western press could make his trial into an Historic Moment.

The next time you see someone sporting a Che Guevara T-shirt, you might want to share the real Che with the wearer.

THOSE DIRTY ROTTEN SOB'S

Ok, I am infuriated now.

From CNN headlines

Separatists claim responsibility for California Wildfires

ORANGE COUNTY, California (CNN) -- Radical Hispanic separatist organization MEChA ("Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan") is taking responsibility for setting the wildfires in California, confirmed Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

California officials received a letter earlier today containing photographs of individuals holding Molotov cocktails, then throwing them into dry brush. The faces of the individuals appeared to have been digitally distorted.

Also included was a rambling manifesto, stating that the reason for the act of arson was that "Aztlán belongs to indigenous people, the Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán. We are sovereign and not subject to a foreign culture."

Orange County Fire Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion told CNN that the pattern of wildfires definitely indicates arson.

"The reason we think it is [arson] is because we found multiple points of origin," Concepcion said. "... Our investigators have confirmed that this is, in fact, arson."

Concepcion said evidence indicated the arsonists wanted the fire to grow rapidly.

A $70,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible for setting the fire. No suspects have been identified, though they are probably brown.

The state established a toll-free arson tip line at 800-540-7085. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said anyone convicted of arson would be dealt with harshly.

Concepcion said about 1,100 firefighters were working on controlling the blaze, which has destroyed at least 22 structures. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the fire was only 30 percent contained Thursday morning after being 50 percent contained the day before.

Concepcion said onshore winds Thursday morning should help firefighters "get the upper hand on this thing."

"For someone to even think about doing something as reprehensible as starting a fire where they knew the fire would grow as rapidly as it would -- traveling about three, 3 ½ miles in about an hour -- is just really absolutely unconscionable," he said

Dirty rotten bastards. I am so livid over this its not even funny.

How many people have lost their homes? How many people lost their lives? How much resources, Federal, State and local have been tied up in this? And its all caused because a bunch of sick retards wanted to make a political point. YOU DIRTY ROTTEN MOTHER F*&&ERS, what they have done is domestic TERRORISM, and I say that when they are caught, they need to be treated like TERRORISTS. NEVER is the willful and wanton destruction of personal or government property or violence acceptable in the name of political dissent........NEVER

Its time the government clamps down HARD on the illegals and come out publicly and explain WHY this land belongs to US. I would ask the MSM to do the same, but that doesn't fit their agenda. The government needs to go on an education campaign and explain that the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo peacefully gives us this land. Then, they need to announce that anyone crossing our borders will be SHOT ON SITE as a foreign invader.

I am so damn tired of this crap. WAKE UP AMERICA, DO SOMETHING FOR HEAVES SAKES. Let your congressmen and representatives KNOW.

Dirty rotten Son of B***hes

Update 10/27/2007

I had to go searching to find out if this story was indeed a spoof or not, due to the comments of one anonymous individual who couldnt form a cohesive thought to save his/her life. Turns out the individual was right, but went about it in a way devoid of any inherent intelligence and the articulate ability of a 5 year old on a playground.

This story is indeed a spoof. But my reaction to it stands.

Hit-and-run suspect is illegal immigrant, had DUI

10:33 PM Mountain Standard Time on Monday, October 22, 2007

By Marissa Wingate / 3TV reporter

A memorial marks the spot where 5-year-old Annabelle Sandoval died Sunday.

She was riding in a truck with her father and her three siblings when police say 27-year-old Wilson Alba-Cano pulled out in front of the family near 7th Avenue and Roeser in Phoenix.

According to police, Alba-Cano, an illegal immigrant who had been arrested before for DUI, was drunk at the time of the hit-and-run.

"It is very heartbreaking," said Gay Cox.

Gay and Tony Cox watched the family's truck flip four times.

"The father was trying to hustle three kids off to the side so they wouldn't get hit by any oncoming cars," Gay said.

"I was just hoping that it was not someone under the truck because you could tell it was a human being just like crying out," said hit-and-run witness Angel Guzman.

Guzman ran to help after witnessing the hit-and-run.

Annabelle was pinned under the truck. At least two of the children had been ejected. A 3-year-old broke his leg.

Witnesses rolled the overturned truck off its side.

"(They) just flipped it back over so it would get off that little girl," Tony Cox said.

Police say Alba-Cano drove off after hitting the truck and soon crashed into a front yard before fleeing.

Witnesses reportedly followed Alba-Cano and held him until police arrived and arrested him. He's charged with manslaughter.

Investigators tell us the children were not wearing seatbelts.

Remembering a Soldier

I found this on Debbie Schlussel's blog. This man shall be remembered.

"Gen. Theus was the first African-American combat support officer to be promoted to brigadier general and one of only three members of the African-American World War II 332nd Fighter Group, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, to receive that rank.
Gen. Theus died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in Providence Hospital in Southfield. He was 85."

New Jersey 2nd-grader suspended from school for drawing stick figure firing gun

DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. - A second-grader’s drawing of a stick figure shooting a gun earned him a one-day school suspension.

Kyle Walker, 7, was suspended last week for violating Dennis Township Primary School’s zero-tolerance policy on guns, the boy’s mother, Shirley McDevitt, told The Press of Atlantic City.

Kyle gave the picture to another child on the school bus, and that child’s parents complained about it to school officials, McDevitt said. Her son told her the drawing was of a water gun, she said.

A photocopy of the picture provided by McDevitt showed two stick figures with one pointing a crude-looking gun at the other, the newspaper said. What appeared to be the word "me" was written above the shooter, with another name scribbled above the other figure.

School officials declined to comment Friday. A message left at the superintendent’s office Saturday was not returned.

Kyle drew other pictures, including a skateboarder, King Tut, a ghost, a tree and a Cyclops, the newspaper reported.

Lets take a look at some of the reader comments about this article:

Ed
I find it hard to believe that he was only suspended for 1 day! Drawing a stick figure with a gun is as menacing as it gets. It starts out as a stick figure gun before it evolves into violating the civil rights of undocumented immigrants, women, minorities, and other repressed groups. The solution here is intense sensitivity training and community service in which this white male can be shown the proper way to behave in today's society. The authorities should take action against the mother; possibly removing the child permanently from his unfortunate home situation.

And this one

Charles
When I was a kid I drew ninjas with swords and so far I haven't cut anyone's head off. I guess I am one of the few exceptions. I AM SICK OF THESE LIBERAL FREAKS AND THEIR POLITICAL CORRECTIONISM!!!!!! LET'S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK FROM THESE SPINELESS COWARDS.

I have a 7 year old...he is fascinated by guns, draws them all the time. Normal items become guns to him when he is playing, its the nature of the BOY. What these whining liberal asshats are trying to do is make a panzy out of male society. I say screw them. My boy is going to grow up to be a man, and when he becomes that man, he is going to know how to shoot, fart, burp and grunt like a man should.

Do I need to add more? Screw you Liberal Moonbat Red Diaper Doper Baby ASSHATS.

Vote to Kill ‘Fairness Doctrine’ Forever Could Come up Today
by Warner Todd Huston @ 1:31 pm. Filed under 1st Amendment, News

n an effort to kill it forever, Representative Mike Pence (R-Ind.) is attempting to force a vote on the floor of the House today over the future of the so-called “Fairness Doctrine.” Pence already secured passage of the “Free Flow of Information Act” to protect the press and is now launching an effort to nix the ability of the executive branch from re-instituting the woefully unfair “Fairness Doctrine,” a relic from the 1980s that deserves to remain dead and buried.

Using a somewhat arcane House rule called a “discharge Petition,” Pence and Representative Greg Walden (R- Ore.) are attempting to defy the House majority and force a vote on the measure. A “discharge petition” would need the support of 218 members of the House to force a vote and Pence already has 201names pledged to support him. He needs only 17 Democrats to join the effort and Pence can defeat the efforts of Nancy Pelosi to block the attempt.

Here is your cue. If you are in a district that sent a Democrat to the House of Representatives, call him immediately and ask him to support Mike Pence’s measure. If he can get this measure passed, we can prevent a future Democrat president from re-instituting the “Fairness Doctrine” by using his power to appoint left leaning FCC commissioners who will be compliant enough to reinstate this failed doctrine of the past. If Pence is successful, we can at least stop this newest attempt by the left to secure left leaning media bias and quash conservative voices in the media.

As Robert Bluey of the Heritage Foundation wrote on his Bluey Blog today:

The return of the Fairness Doctrine would be dreadful for broadcasters, many of whom have conservative viewpoints, Pence told a group of conservative bloggers at the Heritage Foundation yesterday. He said many political commentators would quit rather than keep talking because of the paperwork and legal issues that are likely to result.

Not only that but what station owner would go to all the Herculean efforts to include all voices in the political spectrum every single broadcast? Surely station owners would just assume not have any political commentary at all rather than bend over backwards, lose money, and give their hosts short shrift to satisfy this backwards and oppressive FCC rule?

Bluey continues:

Pence, himself a former radio-show host, was confident yet realistic about his chances of finding the votes. “I don’t think freedom is a partisan issue in the House of Representatives,” he said. He noted that 113 Democrats voted for a similar measure this summer that prevented the FCC from restoring the Fairness Doctrine for one year. Making that ban permanent won’t be as easy.

Folks, we have a chance to kill this abomination against free speech. I urge you folks with Democrat Representatives to call your House member ASAP.

Cheney and Obama are distant cousins: Mrs. Cheney

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - There's no sign of a family reunion planned, but U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama are distant cousins.

So says the vice president's wife, Lynne Cheney, who said she discovered that her husband of 43 years is eighth cousins with the senator from Illinois.

The two men could hardly be more different. Cheney is an advocate for pursuing the war in Iraq to try to stabilize the country, while Obama wants to get U.S. troops out of Iraq.

Mrs. Cheney told MSNBC on Tuesday that it was "an amazing American story that one ancestor ... could be responsible down the family line for lives that have taken such different and varied paths."

The common ancestor was Mareen Devall, who the Chicago Sun-Times said was a 17th century immigrant from France.

Mrs. Cheney said she discovered the link through family research for her new book, "Blue Skies, No Fences," about growing up in Wyoming.

A Threat to the Internet

By Rep. John Boehner : BIO| 12 Oct 2007

In our rapidly changing global marketplace, America's entrepreneurs, innovators, and workers are striving to remain competitive, and Republicans in Congress have consistently focused on keeping the Internet free from taxation, cutting taxes so entrepreneurs will have a greater incentive to put more money into growing their businesses, and removing regulatory obstacles to competition. The result has been an improving standard of living, millions of additional private sector jobs, and new products, services, and industries that enrich our lives every day.

Since taking the Majority in the U.S. House, by contrast, Democrats have promoted what they call their "Innovation Agenda." In reality, this agenda amounts to little more than a litany of recycled federal initiatives, proving once again that congressional Democrats believe the ideas which trigger innovation and economic growth come to life in Washington, D.C. and not in the free market.

Curiously missing from the Democrats' Innovation Agenda is a measure to make permanent the ban on Internet taxes. Their deafening silence on the issue is especially noteworthy because the ban - first put in place by a Republican Congress in 1998 - is set to expire in mere weeks, on November 1. Few people would argue with the fact that the Internet is driving economic growth in ways we couldn't have imagined 20 years ago. And, at the same time, few people fail to see its potential for driving new economic growth in the future. In fact, the Internet could be viewed as the "hub" of innovation in the 21st Century; there's simply no telling what new doors it could open for students, workers, and consumers in the future.

So, why would we even consider levying onerous taxes upon it? In my view, there's no quicker way to reverse the Internet's incredibly strong and positive impact on our economy than to force consumers and business owners to pay even more to access and make purchases over it.

But that's just what could happen if the ban ever expired: states and localities would have free-rein to tax the web. And that's why, on a number of occasions over the past decade, the Republican-led House passed legislation to make this ban permanent. Unfortunately, our efforts were consistently thwarted by the Senate, leading us to pass a temporary moratorium, which - as I noted - will expire in a matter of weeks. To keep Congress from having to punt on the tax ban once again, House Republican leaders have called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) to follow the Republican House's lead and schedule a permanent Internet tax ban for a vote. To date, all they have done is advanced a temporary extension of the ban in the Judiciary Committee - ignoring our request to schedule a House vote on a permanent ban.

The Democratic leadership's refusal to schedule a vote on a permanent Internet tax ban is particularly puzzling given their afore-mentioned Innovation Agenda. One of the core goals of that agenda, for example, is the "nationwide deployment of high speed, always-on broadband Internet and mobile communications." A copy of the agenda - publicly available on Speaker Pelosi's website - affirms, "Just as railroads and highways did in the past, broadband and mobile communications will dramatically increase the productivity and efficiency of our economy in the future and bring more Americans into an online global community and marketplace."

I happen to agree. Yet I also happen to believe that the productivity and efficiency of our economy would be stalled significantly if Internet access and purchases were taxed. And that's precisely why the ban must be made permanent.

The Democrats' agenda further states, "Small businesses are the catalysts for technological innovation... Yet small businesses face significant hurdles, both regulatory and marketbased, that thwart the effort to transform ideas into jobs. Removing these hurdles is a key component of this Innovation Agenda."

Once again, I happen to agree. Yet I also happen to believe that taxing the Internet would be a severe blow to small business owners and their employees. But don't just take my word for it. Democratic Chairwoman of the House Small Business Committee, Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), recently acknowledged that the tax hike would saddle small businesses with a 15 to 30 percent increase in their Internet bills. Once again, that's precisely why the ban must be made permanent.

So why are Democratic leaders dragging their feet on legislation to protect small businesses and other Internet users from a massive tax hike? For the answer, one needs to look no further than the record they've assembled on taxes all year long. Democratic tax hike proposals so far this year include: the now-infamous $150 billion "war surtax" proposal; federal gas tax hikes to pay for Democratic energy legislation and infrastructure; and a massive $392.5 billion tax increase on middle-class families in their very first budget proposed in the Majority. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Democrats also are preparing for battle over the alternative minimum tax - a particularly perverse tax swamping more and more middle-income families that Republicans want to eliminate and Democrats want to preserve.

Al Gore didn't create the Internet, but the leaders of his party have proven themselves eminently capable of taxing it. By refusing to make the Internet tax ban permanent, the Democratic leadership is playing an irresponsible game of chicken with American consumers and our nation's economy. As November 1 draws closer, Democrats face a choice: will they protect millions of consumers and small businesses from a massive, abrupt tax increase, or will they add to their ever-growing list of tax hikes and undermine the very same innovation they claim to be promoting on Capitol Hill?

Fire & Hammer: A Common Word or A Major Stumbling Block

This is kind of old...but

I found this on the freedomfolks website, its from 8/7 but it highlights something which is a thorn in my side, that is the INTOLERANCE of the left in this country.

In addition to this incident in Chicago, our own group ran into a violent encounter with the left which left a mother injured by a coward of a man who knocked her to the ground, took her camera and went running like a coward down the street with it. He was soon caught up to by 2 military recruiters, but not before he was able to smash the camera to bits. The recruiters did their civic duty and held the coward for police who arrested and charged the man with assault and other charges. Turns out the man is a professor at the U of A.

Before this, one of our numbers was attacked at a World Cant Wait rally in the U of A mall, had his sign damaged, was pushed and hit and his attacker ended up being arrested and charged.

The "peaceful" left is not the peaceful left. They are a bunch of socialist scum who are anti-american, anti-patriotism and anti-anything good and decent.

Calif. cities mull smoking ban for apartments

By Wendy Koch, USA TODAY
Lawmakers in two California cities are discussing unprecedented legislation this month that would widen a growing voluntary movement by landlords and resident associations to ban smoking inside apartments and condos.

Next Tuesday, the City Council of Belmont is scheduled to cast a final vote on an ordinance that would ban smoking in apartments and condos. The measure, which won initial approval last week, could trigger fines and evictions if neighbors complain and smokers don't heed repeated warnings.

In Calabasas on Wednesday, the City Council discussed a proposal that would expand its anti-smoking law to bar lighting up inside existing apartments and most new condos. The council agreed to request changes to the measure that would exempt all condos and set aside a certain percentage of apartments for smokers, says city spokesman Michael Hafken. It is slated to consider the revised proposal next month.

The legislative push, which has triggered death threats against council members in both cities, is a controversial part of a mostly voluntary effort to prod landlords and condo associations to adopt smoke-free policies.

Health officials in about 30 states promote the health and economic benefits, including reduced fire risk and lower cleanup costs for multiunit housing, says Jim Bergman, director of the Smoke-Free Environments Law Project, a Michigan group funded partly by the state.

Tens of thousands of apartments and condos have gone smoke-free in the past five years, management companies and health activists say. Last month, Guardian Management began phasing in a smoke-free policy at 8,000 of its rental units, mostly in Oregon and Washington.

"We've proven the voluntary approach can work very well," Bergman says. He doesn't think legislative bans will work because of a "my home is my castle" philosophy.

"The time has come. The evils of smoking have been known for decades," says Barry Groveman, a Calabasas councilman who co-wrote the proposal.

Still, he knows he's struck a nerve. "I've gotten threats like you wouldn't believe," Groveman says.

"Fresh air should be breathed by everybody," Belmont Mayor Coralin Feierbach says. She cites a 2006 surgeon general's report that says no level of secondhand smoke is risk-free.

Critics say the bans violate civil and personal property rights. "You should be able to do as you wish in your own home," says Michon Coleman of the San Mateo County Association of Realtors.

Belmont's ordinance is "way over the top," because a smoker can be evicted simply for lighting up, says Warren Lieberman, one of two council members who oppose it.

Such criticism prompted Oakland last month to remove a ban on smoking in new apartments and condos from an ordinance that barred lighting up in public places.

Feierbach says she never intended to create a stir, but she expects other cities to follow Belmont. "We really broke ground," she says.

Give em an inch, and they take a mile....that is what my mom used to say, and she was right.

So lets tally what is wrong with the socialists in California...shall we?

1. Despite the provisions of the Brady law, there is still a 15 day waiting period to buy firearms.

2. You can not smoke in public places, nor within 25 feet of public entrances.

3. In San Francisco, the city that you liberal vermin have desecrated, you can not smoke in public parks nor on beaches.

4. You can not get a concealed weapons permit in California unless your a politician, police officer, bodyguard or celebrity.

And so on....They have now invaded the privacy of your own home.

Wake up people...the writing is on the wall, they are after you, and they want to take all of your rights away. I have said it before, I am saying it again, PRECEDENT.

In Basra, vigilantes wage deadly campaign against women By Jay Price and Ali Omar al Basri, McClatchy Newspapers
Thu Oct 4, 5:03 PM ET

BASRA, Iraq — Women in Basra have become the targets of a violent campaign by religious extremists, who leave more than 15 female bodies scattered around the city each month, police officers say.

Maj. Gen. Abdel Jalil Khalaf , the commander of Basra's police, said Thursday that self-styled enforcers of religious law threatened, beat and sometimes shot women who they believed weren't sufficiently Muslim.

"This is a new type of terror that Basra is not familiar with," he said. "These gangs represent only themselves, and they are far outside religious, forgiving instructions of Islam."

Often, he said, the "crime" is no more than wearing Western clothes or not wearing a head scarf.

Before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, Iraqi women had had rights enshrined in the country's constitution since 1959 that were among the broadest of any Arab or Islamic nation. However, while the new constitution says that women are equal under the law, critics have condemned a provision that says no law can contradict the "established rulings" of Islam as weakening women's rights.

The vigilantes patrol the streets of Basra on motorbikes or in cars with dark-tinted windows and no license plates. They accost women who aren't wearing the traditional robe and head scarf known as hijab. Religious extremists in the city also have been known to attack men for clothes or even haircuts deemed too Western.

Like all of southern Iraq , Basra is populated mostly by Shiite Muslims, so sectarian violence isn't a major problem, but security has deteriorated as Shiite militias fight each other for power. British troops in the area pulled out last month.

Khalaf, who has a reputation for outspokenness in a city where that can get you killed, scoffed at the groups, calling them no better than criminal gangs. He said he didn't care if some were affiliated with the militias, he planned to crack down on them.

"If there is a red line related to the insurgents and militias, we will pass it over, because it's one of the factors that destroy the society," he said.

The violence is displacing the few members of religious minorities in the area. Fuad Na'im , one of a handful of Christians left in the city, said Thursday that the way his wife dressed made the whole family a target.

"I was with my wife few days ago when two young men driving a motorbike stopped me and asked her about her clothes and why she doesn't wear hijab," he said. "When I told them that we are Christians, they beat us badly, and I would be dead if some people nearby hadn't intervened."

That was enough, he said.

"I'm about to leave the city where I was born and where my father and grandfather were buried, because I can't live in a place where we're asked about our clothes, food and drink."

Elsewhere in Iraq on Thursday, Mua'awia Jibara, a leader in the tribal movement to fight the group al Qaida in Iraq in concert with U.S. troops, was fatally injured when a roadside bomb exploded near his convoy southwest of Samara . He died in a hospital. Three of his guards also were killed.

Around 10 a.m. , the deputy governor of Iskandariyah, about 30 miles south of Baghdad , was killed by a roadside bomb that targeted his convoy. Three guards also were killed.

There were several incidents of violence in Baghdad . In the eastern part of the city, a bomb planted in a minibus exploded about 9:30 a.m. , killing four people and injuring seven.

Around noon, a car bomb exploded in the Wihda neighborhood of east Baghdad , killing three people and injuring eight. A roadside bomb exploded in the Waziriyah neighborhood in north Baghdad , killing one person and injuring two.

Phony Soldier Debacle

If you have watched the news recently, you would have heard the story about the Dems wanting to yank Rush Limbaugh off Armed Forced Radio Network. They, of course, can not do this, but want to stifle his free speech anyway because they used a very small portion of his program to make it seem like he was calling our fine men and women in the military "phony". He was not, nor would he ever do that. What he did do was point out that some soldiers who try to protest the war and make claims of abuse etc. have been found to truly be "phony". These particular specimens of lower than dirt life have exaggerated their service, if they had any to begin with, and blatantly lie to the public. One such person is the supposed Army Ranger Jesse what's his name. Check out what is going on at the links I have included in this text.
When I originally saw this story about Rush, I noticed the morning news program it was on (The Today Show) did not include Rush in their interview portion, but instead spoke with Wesley Clark. They did, at least, show a small snippet from Rush's online program, but not enough to get the full statement of what he really said or who he was referring to with the "phony soldiers" comment. Gotta love the MSM.
