I know, and have always known, that All Hallow's Eve is a night for pagan rituals concerning the dead. Jack O' Lanterns are traditionally used to ward off evil spirits on this night. The candy entered the picture with the advent of Hallmark Card holidays. You know, like Valentine's Day or Bosses' Day. I see it as harmless, spooky fun, not as anything religious or anti-religious.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
