Ok...so this is old .. But

I was reading The Drudge Report today and ran across a link to a video on a student protest somewhere over something or other (Ok, my brain is fried from work today, sue me)

That led me to start researching videos on youtube and found an interesting one that I want you to look at, then I look at my comments:

Ok, this CAREFULLY edited video shows students doing their "civic duty" in protesting the war by walking out on classes and having a good old fashioned loving sit in. And in this video, they are up in front of the school board WHINING because they will get suspended or expelled.

I want to focus on one particular speaker who got my attention. Her speech begins at time mark 4:32 and continues through to the end. Lets take a look at some of what she had to say, shall we?

"On November 1st he and his classmates had the courage and valor to stand up for something they believe in"

Good on them!

"They see their families suffering from a recession that is affecting everyone"

Um Excuse me? I am not suffering from a recession. How many of you are?

"They took a peaceful demonstration by singing Kumbiyah (SP?) Give peace a chance, and we shall overcome"

Kudos to them, but hasnt anyone told them that its not original? Where did they learn all this? Wait for it...its coming.

"The actions of the board is criminalising youth. You are misleading when you say they were given opportunities and not taking those opportunities to leave. We have several witnesses and affidavits that assert that fact. We have adults and certain people at your school who say that they did. They moved their demonstration from outside when they were assured by your administration that they would not have any consequences if they did so. And they complied."

Ah, good for them, they complied. But lets just gloss over the fact that they left school when they knew they were not supposed to (This part goes without saying, you know?)....Lets continue, shall we?

"Preferential treatment, is not the American way"

No ... it isnt the moral way, but guess what toots...it happens, and there is nothing you can do about. However, I refer you to our Declaration of Independence, you know that little document that you so convieniently forget about which is a guarantee from our government? It says that ALL MEN ARE CREATED Equal.....What exactly is she saying here? WAIT FOR IT, ITS COMING!!

"These kids model in the great peaceful manner of such people as Martin Luther King, Cesar Chaves and (unintelligible due to applause)"

Thats great...just great! But I am sorry, when did these people ever model that high school students should walk off campus to protest something? She implies earlier in the video that the children have rights and they dont feel like they do. Yes, they have rights....They can protest all their little hearts desire...OFF OF SCHOOL CAMPUS AND AFTER SCHOOL HOURS. During school hours, they are expected to be in class, like the law says they must be. But why is she bringing up these great leaders of reform? WAIT FOR IT....

"I say this because I am an educator myself. And I work in politics and community activism"

UH OH .. there it is. She is just another left wing educator who is behind students who flaunt rules, good common sense and moral decency in defying the law and walking out of class and off campus into a demonstration. KNOWING FULL WELL THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES FOR THOSE ACTIONS!

Sorry, if you protest ... and you know its against the law ... before you do it ... then dont cry when there are consequences for your actions. Martin Luther King and Cesar Chaves KNOWINGLY faced arrest and harassment for their actions, and they didnt cry when it happened to them. I have no sympathy for them except that they have listless parents who are teaching them to break the law.

The only injustice in this video is that the parents of the students werent arrested.

Military hating lawyer keys Marines car

From Flopping Aces:

Marine Sgt Mike McNulty is on activation orders to Iraq (second tour). On December 1st, 2007, Mike went to visit a friend in Chicago before deploying to say goodbye. In order to get to his friend's residence, and keep in mind that Chicago is a myriad of diagonal and one-way streets, the front entrance (right way) to the one-way street was blocked. Mike, being a Marine, overcame and adapted by driving around the block to the other end of the street and backing up all the way to his friend's place.

While saying goodbye, at about 11am, he noticed a man leaning up against his car. Mike left his friend's apartment and caught the man keying his car on multiple sides.

After caught in the process, the man told Mike, "you think you can do whatever you want with Department of Defense license plates and tags". (In Illinois you can purchase veteran, Marine, or medal plates. Mike has Illinois Marine Corps license plates.) During the exchange, he made additional anti-military comments.

Mike called the Chicago police and had the man arrested. A citation against the man was issued for misdemeanor criminal damage to private property.

It doesn't end there. The damages turned out to be 2400 bucks which is a felony (no idea why he was cited for a misdemenor since I have never in all my years in a black & white seen a keying of a car come out to less then 300 bucks in damages) and the Marine demanded the guy be charged with a felony while in court.

*snip*

Read the rest of the article and responses. This guy is a scumbag, first class, and because he is a lawyer, he gets to act smug and like he is above the law. And the state isn't helping AT ALL.

Scumbags, all of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update 1/1/08 0958 (yeah, I am a little behind on this)

From Flopping Aces this update
:

Attn: BlackFive

I am writing to produce an update of the results of Sgt McNulty's case against Jay R Grodner. I was present in support of Mike and thought you may be interested in an update for this story.

Sgt McNulty was called forward by the State's Attorney in order to discuss the case. I am not sure what transpired behind the closed doors, however, I overheard the State's Attorney expressing her intent to prosecute this guy to the fullest extent. It seems as if BlackFive is the sole catalyst to this story getting out and I am sure Sgt McNulty has probably heard the effect of yours and other blogs from the results of today's proceedings to include several Marines and civilians who showed up in his support.

Jay R Grodner was called before court and in his absence, the Judge issued a warrant for his arrest effective immediately. Sgt McNulty was departing the court when Grodner rolled in to the courtroom more pathetic than anyone I had ever seen. The Judge had questioned him on his tardiness and he explained that traffic had been busy and he 'made a wrong turn'. The Judge chastised him for his tardiness, pathetic excuses, and that he was lucky the warrant had not been executed prior to his arrival.

It seems the blogosphere has put the ball in Sgt McNulty's court. Furthermore, it is also apparent that the State's Attorney's Office has decided to take this matter on a much more serious level. A new and very aggressive State's Attorney seems to have a genuine interest in pursuing this case to the extent that it warrants.

2nd Annual throw lefty a curve

So, here we go, this report will probably be broken into parts, but if you were not a reader of my blog when we first did this last year, you can find reports here, here, here, here, here, here, here (come to think of it, this guy wasnt there this year), here, and here.

This year was more of the same. We attempted to pull a permit 2 months ago, but was advised that the moonbats already had one. Turns out they got it on 3/16/07, so they had been planning this for awhile. Word on the street was that they were pissed off about our showing up to ruin their good time last year, so this year they were ready to go all out. And they did!

The General and I went to her office early in the morning to load flags and signs into our vehicles. Admittedly, our planning was poor for this event as we didnt get an email out until a few days prior. Life has a way of getting in the way. We headed over to our meeting point at which had been advertised on KNST and 104.1 freedom radio. Getting there late, we setup and the General went to get breakfast. We ate, had coffee, people showed up and off we went.

Arriving in Sierra Vista we were pleasantly surprised by the closure of the front gates of Ft Huachuca, and I mean it was CLOSED. The military had directed all traffic to the east gate and had barricaded the front gate. Noone was allowed to cross the street. Shortly after our arrival, Sierra Vistas finest showed up. I took the opportunity to go talk to the Lieutenant who I had previously spoke with on the phone. The plan was that since both groups wanted a permit for the same day at the same time, they would compromise and keep us in one area, seperated by a wall of police. I introduced myself and spoke with him and we went over ground rules. We unloaded our vehicles and began setup.

Getting there at this time was members of the Cochise county Republicans, who were on board for this thanks to Gail Griffen and Irv. We got all of our flags setup and were ready to rock and roll, I grabbed the megaphone as the lefties were starting to show up and began my fun with them.

As they walked across the street, I embellished, "Righties to the left and lefties to the right" To explain this, their permitted territory access was to the right, ours was to left, so it was a catchy lil thing to say. The look of surprise on their face was something else. I grabbed another guy and we stood there directing people to their areas, we had a few lefties who argued with us that it was a public sidewalk, I said it was permitted territory, they pushed thru which elicited a response to me call for police to re-direct the misguided souls to their area. After doing this 2 times, I was approached by an officer who let his anger show. He told me that its a public sidewalk and anyone is permitted to use it, that if I continued, I would be the one "Inciting"...I reminded him to speak to the Lt. its permitted territory for today, he said its a public sidewalk, I said its permitted territory, he walked away after I turned my back on him. This is the same guy who got Mike Lucero, a gold star dad, all riled up last year and was goading him into doing something stupid so he can arrest him. After about 10 mins I looked back at the corner, and lo and behold, there he was directing...lefties to the right, righties to the left. I do believe I made my point!

Let me digress here and say that Sierra Vista PD is totally inexperienced with protests and has no clue how to handle them. They were more on top of their game this year, but it still was not handled smoothly by them.

Arriving for the moonbats was a Jeep SUV driven by a sole driver pulling a trailer which was to serve as a stage. They were permitted to pull onto the easement while we had been told not to do that. I wondered aloud via the megaphone, "Why is it that we showed up with our vehicles filled and they were arriving one to 2 per car" My statements fell on deaf ears. As the moonbats swelled in numbers, I began critiquing their signs via the megaphone, "You there, if war is not the answer, what is the question?" All I got was a funny look on that one. I spotted another man with the same sign, so I repeated my question...this time he stopped and rambled something about diplomacy blah blah blah...before I could remind him that Sadaam Hussein was in violation of every UN Security council order, he moved on and my attention was drawn down the street where a large contingent of loonies were moving towards the protest area. I just shook my head and continued the questions, "If the earth is tilted on its axis, why dont we have to shorten the legs on one side of our tables?" Ok, that one was seriously a rhetorical question, but I had wondered about it since elementary school, noone has the answer.

Ok, this will wet your appetite, more later, I need FOOD. Meanwhile, check out a couple of articles from Azstarnet and the Sierra Vista Herald.

Coming up later, motorcycles on parade, lefties invading our territory, and speeches being drowned out.

THOSE DIRTY ROTTEN SOB'S

Ok, I am infuriated now.

From CNN headlines

Separatists claim responsibility for California Wildfires

ORANGE COUNTY, California (CNN) -- Radical Hispanic separatist organization MEChA ("Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan") is taking responsibility for setting the wildfires in California, confirmed Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

California officials received a letter earlier today containing photographs of individuals holding Molotov cocktails, then throwing them into dry brush. The faces of the individuals appeared to have been digitally distorted.

Also included was a rambling manifesto, stating that the reason for the act of arson was that "Aztlán belongs to indigenous people, the Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán. We are sovereign and not subject to a foreign culture."

Orange County Fire Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion told CNN that the pattern of wildfires definitely indicates arson.

"The reason we think it is [arson] is because we found multiple points of origin," Concepcion said. "... Our investigators have confirmed that this is, in fact, arson."

Concepcion said evidence indicated the arsonists wanted the fire to grow rapidly.

A $70,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible for setting the fire. No suspects have been identified, though they are probably brown.

The state established a toll-free arson tip line at 800-540-7085. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said anyone convicted of arson would be dealt with harshly.

Concepcion said about 1,100 firefighters were working on controlling the blaze, which has destroyed at least 22 structures. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the fire was only 30 percent contained Thursday morning after being 50 percent contained the day before.

Concepcion said onshore winds Thursday morning should help firefighters "get the upper hand on this thing."

"For someone to even think about doing something as reprehensible as starting a fire where they knew the fire would grow as rapidly as it would -- traveling about three, 3 ½ miles in about an hour -- is just really absolutely unconscionable," he said

Dirty rotten bastards. I am so livid over this its not even funny.

How many people have lost their homes? How many people lost their lives? How much resources, Federal, State and local have been tied up in this? And its all caused because a bunch of sick retards wanted to make a political point. YOU DIRTY ROTTEN MOTHER F*&&ERS, what they have done is domestic TERRORISM, and I say that when they are caught, they need to be treated like TERRORISTS. NEVER is the willful and wanton destruction of personal or government property or violence acceptable in the name of political dissent........NEVER

Its time the government clamps down HARD on the illegals and come out publicly and explain WHY this land belongs to US. I would ask the MSM to do the same, but that doesn't fit their agenda. The government needs to go on an education campaign and explain that the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo peacefully gives us this land. Then, they need to announce that anyone crossing our borders will be SHOT ON SITE as a foreign invader.

I am so damn tired of this crap. WAKE UP AMERICA, DO SOMETHING FOR HEAVES SAKES. Let your congressmen and representatives KNOW.

Dirty rotten Son of B***hes

Update 10/27/2007

I had to go searching to find out if this story was indeed a spoof or not, due to the comments of one anonymous individual who couldnt form a cohesive thought to save his/her life. Turns out the individual was right, but went about it in a way devoid of any inherent intelligence and the articulate ability of a 5 year old on a playground.

This story is indeed a spoof. But my reaction to it stands.

A Threat to the Internet

By Rep. John Boehner : BIO| 12 Oct 2007

In our rapidly changing global marketplace, America's entrepreneurs, innovators, and workers are striving to remain competitive, and Republicans in Congress have consistently focused on keeping the Internet free from taxation, cutting taxes so entrepreneurs will have a greater incentive to put more money into growing their businesses, and removing regulatory obstacles to competition. The result has been an improving standard of living, millions of additional private sector jobs, and new products, services, and industries that enrich our lives every day.

Since taking the Majority in the U.S. House, by contrast, Democrats have promoted what they call their "Innovation Agenda." In reality, this agenda amounts to little more than a litany of recycled federal initiatives, proving once again that congressional Democrats believe the ideas which trigger innovation and economic growth come to life in Washington, D.C. and not in the free market.

Curiously missing from the Democrats' Innovation Agenda is a measure to make permanent the ban on Internet taxes. Their deafening silence on the issue is especially noteworthy because the ban - first put in place by a Republican Congress in 1998 - is set to expire in mere weeks, on November 1. Few people would argue with the fact that the Internet is driving economic growth in ways we couldn't have imagined 20 years ago. And, at the same time, few people fail to see its potential for driving new economic growth in the future. In fact, the Internet could be viewed as the "hub" of innovation in the 21st Century; there's simply no telling what new doors it could open for students, workers, and consumers in the future.

So, why would we even consider levying onerous taxes upon it? In my view, there's no quicker way to reverse the Internet's incredibly strong and positive impact on our economy than to force consumers and business owners to pay even more to access and make purchases over it.

But that's just what could happen if the ban ever expired: states and localities would have free-rein to tax the web. And that's why, on a number of occasions over the past decade, the Republican-led House passed legislation to make this ban permanent. Unfortunately, our efforts were consistently thwarted by the Senate, leading us to pass a temporary moratorium, which - as I noted - will expire in a matter of weeks. To keep Congress from having to punt on the tax ban once again, House Republican leaders have called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) to follow the Republican House's lead and schedule a permanent Internet tax ban for a vote. To date, all they have done is advanced a temporary extension of the ban in the Judiciary Committee - ignoring our request to schedule a House vote on a permanent ban.

The Democratic leadership's refusal to schedule a vote on a permanent Internet tax ban is particularly puzzling given their afore-mentioned Innovation Agenda. One of the core goals of that agenda, for example, is the "nationwide deployment of high speed, always-on broadband Internet and mobile communications." A copy of the agenda - publicly available on Speaker Pelosi's website - affirms, "Just as railroads and highways did in the past, broadband and mobile communications will dramatically increase the productivity and efficiency of our economy in the future and bring more Americans into an online global community and marketplace."

I happen to agree. Yet I also happen to believe that the productivity and efficiency of our economy would be stalled significantly if Internet access and purchases were taxed. And that's precisely why the ban must be made permanent.

The Democrats' agenda further states, "Small businesses are the catalysts for technological innovation... Yet small businesses face significant hurdles, both regulatory and marketbased, that thwart the effort to transform ideas into jobs. Removing these hurdles is a key component of this Innovation Agenda."

Once again, I happen to agree. Yet I also happen to believe that taxing the Internet would be a severe blow to small business owners and their employees. But don't just take my word for it. Democratic Chairwoman of the House Small Business Committee, Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), recently acknowledged that the tax hike would saddle small businesses with a 15 to 30 percent increase in their Internet bills. Once again, that's precisely why the ban must be made permanent.

So why are Democratic leaders dragging their feet on legislation to protect small businesses and other Internet users from a massive tax hike? For the answer, one needs to look no further than the record they've assembled on taxes all year long. Democratic tax hike proposals so far this year include: the now-infamous $150 billion "war surtax" proposal; federal gas tax hikes to pay for Democratic energy legislation and infrastructure; and a massive $392.5 billion tax increase on middle-class families in their very first budget proposed in the Majority. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Democrats also are preparing for battle over the alternative minimum tax - a particularly perverse tax swamping more and more middle-income families that Republicans want to eliminate and Democrats want to preserve.

Al Gore didn't create the Internet, but the leaders of his party have proven themselves eminently capable of taxing it. By refusing to make the Internet tax ban permanent, the Democratic leadership is playing an irresponsible game of chicken with American consumers and our nation's economy. As November 1 draws closer, Democrats face a choice: will they protect millions of consumers and small businesses from a massive, abrupt tax increase, or will they add to their ever-growing list of tax hikes and undermine the very same innovation they claim to be promoting on Capitol Hill?

In Basra, vigilantes wage deadly campaign against women By Jay Price and Ali Omar al Basri, McClatchy Newspapers
Thu Oct 4, 5:03 PM ET

BASRA, Iraq — Women in Basra have become the targets of a violent campaign by religious extremists, who leave more than 15 female bodies scattered around the city each month, police officers say.

Maj. Gen. Abdel Jalil Khalaf , the commander of Basra's police, said Thursday that self-styled enforcers of religious law threatened, beat and sometimes shot women who they believed weren't sufficiently Muslim.

"This is a new type of terror that Basra is not familiar with," he said. "These gangs represent only themselves, and they are far outside religious, forgiving instructions of Islam."

Often, he said, the "crime" is no more than wearing Western clothes or not wearing a head scarf.

Before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, Iraqi women had had rights enshrined in the country's constitution since 1959 that were among the broadest of any Arab or Islamic nation. However, while the new constitution says that women are equal under the law, critics have condemned a provision that says no law can contradict the "established rulings" of Islam as weakening women's rights.

The vigilantes patrol the streets of Basra on motorbikes or in cars with dark-tinted windows and no license plates. They accost women who aren't wearing the traditional robe and head scarf known as hijab. Religious extremists in the city also have been known to attack men for clothes or even haircuts deemed too Western.

Like all of southern Iraq , Basra is populated mostly by Shiite Muslims, so sectarian violence isn't a major problem, but security has deteriorated as Shiite militias fight each other for power. British troops in the area pulled out last month.

Khalaf, who has a reputation for outspokenness in a city where that can get you killed, scoffed at the groups, calling them no better than criminal gangs. He said he didn't care if some were affiliated with the militias, he planned to crack down on them.

"If there is a red line related to the insurgents and militias, we will pass it over, because it's one of the factors that destroy the society," he said.

The violence is displacing the few members of religious minorities in the area. Fuad Na'im , one of a handful of Christians left in the city, said Thursday that the way his wife dressed made the whole family a target.

"I was with my wife few days ago when two young men driving a motorbike stopped me and asked her about her clothes and why she doesn't wear hijab," he said. "When I told them that we are Christians, they beat us badly, and I would be dead if some people nearby hadn't intervened."

That was enough, he said.

"I'm about to leave the city where I was born and where my father and grandfather were buried, because I can't live in a place where we're asked about our clothes, food and drink."

Elsewhere in Iraq on Thursday, Mua'awia Jibara, a leader in the tribal movement to fight the group al Qaida in Iraq in concert with U.S. troops, was fatally injured when a roadside bomb exploded near his convoy southwest of Samara . He died in a hospital. Three of his guards also were killed.

Around 10 a.m. , the deputy governor of Iskandariyah, about 30 miles south of Baghdad , was killed by a roadside bomb that targeted his convoy. Three guards also were killed.

There were several incidents of violence in Baghdad . In the eastern part of the city, a bomb planted in a minibus exploded about 9:30 a.m. , killing four people and injuring seven.

Around noon, a car bomb exploded in the Wihda neighborhood of east Baghdad , killing three people and injuring eight. A roadside bomb exploded in the Waziriyah neighborhood in north Baghdad , killing one person and injuring two.

(Price reports for The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. Basri is a McClatchy Newspapers special correspondent. Special correspondent Hussein Kadhim contributed to this story.)
